Rating: Summary: This book was a bore. Review: My opinion about this book is that it took to long to get to the point the book was based on. The first half of the book tells you about characters and different settings, and the buildup to the plot of the book. The book itself doesn't have enough action in the first half of the book to keep the readers attention. I think the author needs to fill his pages with more mystery or action. instead of taking half a book to build up plot, write the whole book on one. To me this book wasn't the best of books, and was too drawn out on the fact that it takes the author the first half of the book to talk about what will happen at the end. I think this book was boring.
Rating: Summary: It's a real "popper"! Review: An excellent novel! Just like "The Amityville Horror" (the original) I couldn't put it down. The reader gradually grows attached to the main character (Colin) and throughout the book the reader will hope nothing terrible is going to happen to Colin. It really was a nail-biter and a page-turner. This was the first book I've read of Dead R. Koontz and I guarantee it isn't the last one!
Rating: Summary: A wonderfully exciting book. Koontz's best ever Review: I would have to say that this book was one of the most wonderful books i have ever read. I took the book everyehere i went and never stopped reading until i was completly through. THe only set back was that the only refrence to the title was Colin's fear of the dark ( a rather boring part). THe end seemed as if nothing had really happened and the whole experience was no big deal. THe Voice in the Night was an insightful horror novel that gave me a whole new perspective on friends. I have read this book twice and the second time was just as good as the first., Although i have never read any other books by Koontz i feel that this book was terribly wonderful. Koontz is an amazing writer and i can't wait to read more of his books/novels.
Rating: Summary: Pretty decent Review: This ended up being a pretty decent book in the end, though the title is misleading. The action is kind of far fetched but it's a good story and quick to read. And whoever that nerd is that reviewed this story down below that says that he reads "merely 400 pages an hour", yeah right,,,
Rating: Summary: Magnificent from cover to cover you won't be able to let go. Review: The book was very earth shaking I enjoyed every minute of reading it I felt very glued to the pages but when they would talk about the old house I would get bored. Towards the end it was good but the ending was a little unexpected It was like it wasn't a big deal. But over all I thuoght it was a good book, and I can't wait to read the rest of Dean R. Koontz's books.
Rating: Summary: A BOOK THAT MAKES YOU SAY--WOW! Review: Me, I have read over eighty books in this semester of school (81 days) alone and out of my top five list of favorite books, this one stands as placing as two or three. The content and deep--rich characterization of the two teenage boys who are virtual mirrors into a well bounded friendship, and that suddenly takes a big turn. The fast paced novel is great and took me one hour and fifteen minutes. (I reed merely 400pgs per hour) and I enjoyed every page throughout this entire book. This ranks up there with S. King and Bentley Little. Dean Koontz has created a new dimension of the horror genre, or used another, but made it really, really good. Well done!
Rating: Summary: Excellent, a real page turner Review: The story of two boys one is a phyco and the other is shy. If you like other Dean Koontz books you will love this one. I never left it down.
Rating: Summary: If only Koontz would write more like this one... Review: Excellent plot and dialogue. The characters were not flat and two dimensional, unlike characters in some of his other novels. I wanted to help the young boy in this novel who so obviously needed someone who cared. THE VOICE OF THE NIGHT is definitely worth the book shelf space that it occupies.
Rating: Summary: Perfection Review: A real page turner. I read this book in one night. Koontz writes with a profound understanding of the world in which we live. I highly recommend this novel. Koontz is one of the best horror fiction writers on the market. An excellent addition to any horror fan's library, next to Stephen King and Ramsay Campbell
