Rating: Summary: The Voice of the Night Review: This is one of the best books I've ever read. The plot is great and anyone can relate to the two main characters. This one is suspenseful and I couldn't put it down. A must read.
Rating: Summary: Geared towards teenagers Review: Great book that I read all in one sitting while flying from LAX to Manilla. There is something about Dean Koontz's books that is darkly appealing to me I guess.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: I am 14 years old, and I guess the reason I enjoy this book so much is that I am a teenager and this book seems to be aimed toward a teenage audience. This book kept me hooked. I read it anytime I got a chance. I read 339 pages in less than 3 days. That is a record for me. Although it is not my favorite book, it is a great book and is at the top of my list. It's a must read.
Rating: Summary: a good read Review: I found this book easy to read and entertaining. It's not one of his most complex books, but is still a worthwhile read. The book did not totaly absorb me but it also did not bore me. The story was another good guy versus bad guy, with colin being the nerdy hero and roy the deranged killer. Throughout most of the story you are willing colin on, but you are ultimately left feeling sorry for roy and how he came about to be so deranged. Personally i prefer koontz's more recent books, but this a a good early book.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put it Down! Review: This book was awesome! It was the first Dean Koontz book I read and it inspired me to find more. I encourage anyone(teenage or older) to read it!It was really action-packed and interesting, I'll never forget it! -Mo
Rating: Summary: My opinion of this piece of literature and the characters. Review: "The Voice of the Night" is a very quick read with interesting characters and exciting plot twists. Throughout the story I was interested in what would happen next. I think that this story is geared toward a teenage audience, but it can still be interesting to adult with creative imageneering. Roy is a kid with mental problems who seems to be normal in every way. He is a football player and popular. However his past is filled with dark secrets of murder. Colin is an outcast looking for the first real friend of his life. He is a sweet and innocent kid that has to become vile to fight back and survive. The two of them get into a battle of popularity and inteligence because of one faithful and exciting event.
Rating: Summary: It's not worth the bother Review: I love Dean Koontz, but this book was just a waste of time. Character development, what's that? The story has been done before. In all honesty, you might like it, I however did not. Whatever you do, borrow it from someone if you must read it. Don't waste your money.
Rating: Summary: An easy to read, suspensful story that will keep you reading Review: Colin, a shy and timid young boy meets the popular kid of the school, Roy. They both start to explore many things together but just when Colin thinks that they are becoming friends, Roy's games becomes a little strange. This easy to read book doesn't take any of the suspense away, it'll keep you reading and waiting for the next thing to happen.
Rating: Summary: This defines "edge of your seat" Review: This and Hideaway would have to be the two top Koontz books. I couldn't put this one down, both good and bad mains are well developed (perhaps I'm biased because the characters were my age). Roy appeals to our dark fantasies but disgusts in the way he lives them out and Colin shows a compassionate boy, torn between friendship and the fact that this is no friend.
Rating: Summary: The BEST Book EVER! Review: This was the ABSOLUTE BEST AND SCARIEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ IN MY LIFE. It's long, but I finished it in hours! You will not be able to look at it alone! It's the BEST. Beware for a TERRIFYING scare!
