Summary: Incredible Story!!!
Review: My friend suggested I read this book after she received it as a gift. For a while I put it off because I thought that most books about vampires were full of gore and not very appealing. My friend kept assuring me that "Crimson Kiss" was not like that. She was definitely right! "Crimson Kiss" is an incredible book that will have you hooked from the time you read the first chapter.

The story revolves around Meghann O'Neil, a girl of only 18 growing up in the 1940's. One night she catches the eye of a dashing, handsome, and charming man by the name of Lord Simon Baldevar. The two embark on an extremely passionate affair that leaves Meghann breathless. She then finds out that Simon is a vampire, but still desires to be with him. When he transforms her into a vampire she finds that she has literally sold her soul to the devil. Simon turns from the loving passionate man she once knew into a controlling, manipulative man who forces her to call him Master and reads her thoughts to control her into submission.

Meghann's main goal is to free herself from the evil, murderous, and oppressive life she has made with Simon. Will she accomplish this goal? And if so, what sort of punishment lies before her when Simon finds her once again?

This is an excellent book for anyone, even if you don't like horror books. I was extremely intrigued by the characters and felt as though I knew them. I cheered when they triumphed and mourned when they lost.

I would highly suggest this book! You will not be disappointed!!!

Summary: Complete Evaluation on Crimson Kiss
Review: Personally, I think the diction and character development are perhaps the best parts in the book. The book itself is a real page-turner and truly draws my interest to read. Baker's plot is rather brilliant and creative. Through a flashback of recalling her past with Simon, Meghann portrays a vivid imagery of what Simon is like, physically and mentally. It really makes the readers feel like they were there to witness what had happened. But my favorite part was Alcuin's shocking revelation about Simon's history. It truly showed Baker's creativity with giving an explanation and perhaps a cause for Simon's true intention on Maggie.
Nevertheless, I personally find the book cover design to be a bit too tacky, which somehow overshadows the quality of the book. Also, even though Baker broke the rules about vampires being afraid of crucifixes and noneating nature, she fails to break the common conception about sex playing an essential part in vampirism. I regard some of the sex scenes to be unnecessary.

Review: THE FIRST CRIMSON BOOK WAS NOT THE MOST ROMANTIC BUT THE MOST SCARRY

Summary: Excelent Read! Could not put this book down it save my soul!
Review: This book kept me on "the edge of my seat", so to speak, until the end. I've read it twice and an now starting it a third time. Simon is a bit of a butthead, but he is my absolute favorite character in this book. Simon transformed Megann out of ove, but took it WAY too far, but that is what keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Summary: Unique Vampire Tale
Review: This is my favorite vampire novel. And you'll have to take my word for it, I have read many. I would read this over and over, time and again over Anne Rice. The idea, on the surface, seems to be common - impressionable young lady meets suave aristocratic vampire, he turns her, she spends eternity trying to escape. The way the plot is executed is anything but common. I like the contrast that Trisha Baker has incorporated, the conflict of Meghann's job as a therapist for battered women while she herself is unable not only to flee her abusive vampire lover, but also to control her lust for him when he's near. Their connection, however violent, is strong and almost enviable. Simon loves her in his own twisted way (and this is not an invite for abusive men diatribes - this is just a story), but he loves the idea of controlling her more, of possessing her entirely. He is a malevolent character, and you find yourself enthralled by him. Not only does Meghann have a love-hate relationship with Simon, so does the reader. The ending is a fabulous ciff hanger that leaves you breathless for more, which Baker provides with Crimson Night and Crimson Shadows, both of which hold thrillingly unique plots and twists as (spoiler alert!!!) Meghann and Simon have children, and Simon seeks the ultimate weapon - his own invincibility to the sun rendering him nearly indestructable. Still, at the end of Crimson Shadows you want nothing more than for the story to go on. And it could have, but, alas, it appears to be the last novel in this fabulous trilogy. Crimson Kiss is one of the best vampire stories out there, along with its sequels.

Summary: A GOOD idea if I do say so myself
Review: Yes I know I posted a review before about this book but I have thought long and hard about this. I think that like Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire, this book, along with the others in the trilogy, would make wonderful movies. I would love to see who would be chosen to play Maggie,Simon,Jimmy,etc... in the movies. Now Trisha if you read these book reviews please take this one into consideration. Well I just thought I throw the idea out there.
