Rating: Summary: It's the SHAAAAARK! Review: Steve Alten has come up with a sequel to his 1997 story MEG, this was short for Carcharodon Megalodon, which is latin for "If it worked for Pete Benchley it should work for me". In TRENCH the 60 foot, 20 ton spawn of Meg is captured, hungry, angry and desirous of mating. Not a good combo. Alten's hero Dr Jonas taylor is still shocked and depressed from his previous sharkly adventures. He is having marital difficulties as his wife Terry feels she has a great big rival. Add to this an evil industrialist and his beautiful conniving assistant and an undersea lab with technical problems (didn't I just see this last week in DEEP BLUE SEA?) If this was not enough, the Kronosaurs, savage crocodilians who are even larger than the sharks are making an appearance. All the action takes place in the Marianas Trench, which is not my choice for a fun vacation. Ah well I guess it beats Carnival Cruise lines with kathy lee. Thumbs down, go back to jaws
Rating: Summary: I absolutley loved the book.. Review: The book was great well written ..Jaws with an attitude with size and muscle to back it up...you will no longer look at the great white the same way again ..Their Just midgets compared to the meg...
Rating: Summary: A suspense filled thriller that definetly is a movie-maker!! Review: Steve Alten once again has weilded his words to make a truely great book. Trench is definetly a 5 star rated book with all the good elements to make a complete and successful thriller. It is a non stop action filled adventure for the reader that never lets up with your fears. 5 out of 5 stars from me!!!
Rating: Summary: A superior story. Great sequel to Meg. Review: With a more involved story than Meg offered, author Steve Alten gives us intrigue to go along with the terror rising up beneath us. It is quite appearant that Alton's storytelling abilites are developing quickly. His next book should thrilling to say the least.
Rating: Summary: The Trench kept me on the edge of my seat. Review: I loved Meg but The Trench was even better. It was a well written edge-of-your-seat thriller that will also make a great movie. It picks up where Meg leaves off and takes you on ride that leaves you breathless. I read it in 2 days and I wish it didn't have to end. Mr Alton is a very good writter and will only get better as time goes on.

Rating: Summary: Another outstanding book by the remarkable Steve Alten! Review: The Thrench was a fantastic book going into great detail of the feelings and emotions of its carachters. The return of Mac and tarry and her father is what helps this book hit the "best seller" mark.I have read many of steves' great books and I must say that he has again amazed me and forced me to look into the heavyness of life and it presures.I 100% will tell my friends family and the guy at the bus stop that this is a book that shant be missed!
Rating: Summary: Outstanding sequel to Meg Review: The trench has plot twists that are teriffic. Well written sequel to his number one seller Meg. If you liked the trench, let Steve Alten know about it by e-mail. His address is on back inner flap of the book cover. Would make an excellent movie which would scare the pants off of you. Take that JAWS.
Rating: Summary: Another "Can't Put it Down" sequel to "MEG" Review: Mr. Alten does it again. Another thriller just as good as his first book "Meg". I read it in 4 days, able only to read at night. The author is a master storyteller. I can't wait for this one to be made into a movie!
