Rating: Summary: NEVER REVEAL THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR OWN KIND Review: I guess I must be going through a bloodthirsty time of life because I've got a half dozen-vampire tales waiting on my to-be-read bookshelf. It seems that always happens around my birthday. Anyway, this is the first book in a series about the ENFORCERS, a select group of vampires who serve and protect the vampire community and the LAWS OF THE BLOOD, the laws that govern them. The ENFORCER in this book is Selim, who is faced with three problems. The various nests (vampire families) in Hollywood are growing restless. They demand a kill, and Selim has to arrange it. Then it seems that someone has written a tell-all screenplay that reveals all the vampire secrets in violation of the first law - NEVER REVEAL THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR OWN KIND. And to top it all off he's having problems with his relationship with his mortal love Siri. Frankly, Selim needs a vampire shrink bad. The plot was good, most of the characters were interesting, but the contrived happy ending was a bit too much. I'll let you know how the second book in the series goes.
Rating: Summary: Vampire cops, cool! Review: I liked the whole series Laws of the Blood. I have read 4 so far. Each book concentrates on an Enforcer which is a vampire cop meaning they can kill other vampires and *shudder* eat them(yek). I love that 2 of the enforcers and almost all the female characters are very strong and capable. The men are no powder puffs, either mind you and this makes for plenty of sparks. The only problems with the books is all the politics between enforcers, strig, vamps, companions, and dhampyrs. It can be very confusing and hopefully Ms. Sizemore will enlighten us more in future books. My favorite characters are Siri, Char, Selena, and of course, Olympias. Each is written like real women who happen to be either companions of vamps or enforcers. Love these books and also love Ms. Sizmores's website.

Rating: Summary: A great new vampire series!! Review: I really enjoyed this book! Susan Sizemore has come up with a great new twist on vampires in general. The first in a series of 4 to this date, "The Hunt," is set in L.A. Selim is a Enforcer, there is one per city and it is the Enforcer who decides when there is a hunt and who is to be hunted. But lately the vampires in L.A. are really twitchy, they feel that Selim has been slacking on the job. Enforcers are not normal vampires... Whats more scary to a baby vampire? A 1000 yr old vampire or a Enforcer? Hands down, the Enforcer. Enforcers are Judge, Jury and Executioner in their city. But what happens when there are three Enforcers in the same city? A romping good read, definately worth the time to get caught up on this series!!! Loved it!

Rating: Summary: Fabulous Review: I think that the reason that I loved this book so much was that the characters were not clones of Whitewolf/Anne Rice vampires. They more closely resemble the lovers taken in The Hunger by the lamiae. However, the resemblance isn't that great. This book also pokes fun at gothlings a bit, which is why there may be some negative reviews.

Rating: Summary: Confusion throughout the book Review: I was looking for more vampire books after I exhausted the Anita Blake series. I gave this one a try. I wish I hadn't. I still am so confused about strigs, strigoi, companions, enforcers, the hunt, you name it. Basically, the book is a tease. You get a quick introduction to a character or concept and then you're whisked away to the next thing. I purchased the 1st four in this series. The second book helps explain a bit more. I still have so many questions. I recommend reading the other books in the series first, and then, if you have time to kill, try this one. Prepare for the response of "huhhhhh???"

Rating: Summary: I want my money back! Review: I was snookered into buying this book because of the automatic recomendation list that came up below the Anita Blake novels by Laurell K. Hamilton. It is a poorley writen hack novel not worth the paper it is printed on. Unlike Hamilton, Sizemore is an incompetant author with little grasp of what it takes to write an engaging story. The plot was bad, the charectors cartoonish, and the storyline was trite. I was severley dissappointed with the author, for writing such a lousy book, with Amazon for recomending it, with the editor for not doing their job, and with the people who recommended it...
