Rating: Summary: The best book I have read yet!! Review: This book captivated me. The way Frank's mind works is very strange but you can almost justify what he saying. I think everyone should read this book once in there life.
Rating: Summary: Although well-written and uniquely bizarre, a disappointment Review: Iain Banks creates a fascinating character in Frank Cauldhame. The demented world that Frank creates for himself and the fact that it is Frank himself who takes the reader into his obsessive compulsive realm, keeps the reader engaged. For me the book fell apart when Frank finally reveals what made his brother Eric go mad. From there on out, Banks lets the reader down in a big way. The overly contrived ending and the patronizing explanations of everything the book has meant insulted and disappointed me. Banks writes well, but I felt he was just "calling it in" in the last couple of chapters.
Rating: Summary: The greatest book ever written Review: I loved reading this book,it drew me so deep into the characters,Anyone who wants a good read, read this book!
Rating: Summary: Deep, dark, and beautiful Review: This was the first novel I have read from Iain Banks. The imagery and discriptions from begining to end were unbelieveable. This book made me think about all of the obsessive and ritualistic things we do in our lives every day. I think anyone who gives this book less than 5 stars really didn't grab the concept of the novel. I have learned that death is a part of life, ever present, waiting to strike at everyone eventually. This book puts that all into perspective. To Iain Banks: Great book, I enjoyed it thoughly.
Rating: Summary: Seeing flashes of the story 2 years after reading it! Review: While I was reading the book I was also listning to one music album, primarily. Now whenever I hear the music from that album certain scenes from the book enter my mind once more.I would recomend the book to almost any one. But especialy those who enjoy a slight Gothic side to their novels.
Rating: Summary: INTERESTING Review: i think that "use of weapons" is the best banks book. but the wasp factory is definatley a worthwhile read. just read it, read it all, and then decide for yourself. i believe you will have some things to think about.

Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down Review: The Wasp Factory sucked me into the young boys world and held me there till the last page. A great read!
Rating: Summary: green eggs and ham Review: I woke up this morning. I looked at my watch. I was late for work. I decided that I should allow myself the time for a bowl of cereal. So I did. And got to work even later. Someone please kill me.
Rating: Summary: Breathtaking! I wish I had read it sooner! Review: A great book, in my humble opinion, is one that takes me places I have never been before, which engages me, and which brings me into the world and lives of the characters. Banks' Wasp Factory is such a book. I wouldn't dare give away a single part of the plot to any prospective readers in this review because each page of this short novel is too precious and virginal not to be enjoyed and experienced completely firsthand. Let me just encourage anyone and everyone to relax for a quiet few hours with this novel. I guarantee that you'll be a different person when you finish than you were when you began. And, to Mr. Banks, I would only like to add: "Bravo! Bravo! If only every writer's first novel could be so funny, horrifying, entertaining and shocking from cover to cover, as this one was!"
