Rating: Summary: Subject: Great Book Review: I love the power. I hated her mom at the start she made her pray in the closet. Ever since that book i wish he would wright a carrie two and make it a movie and they did. I am only seven and i love this book just like the girl who loved tom gordon.
Rating: Summary: Raw, dirty and very repulsive Review: I am not a big fan of Stephen King books, although I have only read three of this books. The first one I read was "Carrie". I saw the film, loved it, so gave the novel a try. I must say it`s difficult to get imagery from this book, and I did not find King`s use of words powerful or frightening at all. They were too raw and unpleasantly accurate to intrigue me. But what really aggravated me about "Carrie" is the way King constructed newspaper articles, obituaries, and interviews into the story. It totally weakened the plot, and it sort of got confusing at times. Brian De Palma`s classic film adaptation, I feel, is a lot better. The plot was produced with more focus on adolescence, and the severe emotions the main characters felt. There also a lot more powerful and unexpected moments. Strangely, De Palma`s version of the prom scene is a a lot more chilling and electrifying than the book`s. I actually found the novel`s depiction of the climax rather funny. In all, if you`re looking for a compelling, terrifying horror story, don`t read "Carrie", it won`t do anything for you.
Rating: Summary: This is a great book Review: Carrie is the third best book by Stephan King. The only others are the Stand and Christine. Its about young girl whose been put through alot of pain. She soon finds out she has T.K.(telekineses) After a prank involving pigs blood she acts out her revenge on the town.Interesting with the news articles and grandjury interviews
Rating: Summary: Very compeling, Hard to put down Review: When I fisrt read this book I though it would fairly dull but after the first few pages I was hooked. I could not put it down until I finished it.
Rating: Summary: I want a review of what the book is about please do so. Review: I need to fing out a character summary
Rating: Summary: failed to be a horror novel Review: I expected it to be oooh so evil and scary, but I read it late at night and I didn't feel any chill at all. It wasn't what I expected it to be. I expected it to be so evil that I couldn't go to sleep at night and would have images in my head, but no... I found it quite funny.
Rating: Summary: His Best! Review: This is the best Stephen King book I've read! I wish that it would have been longer! It only took me like a week to read and I thought all the characters were awesome. I like how King did the flashbacks and the other books written about telekensis. It's scray at the end but read it definetly. Go get it now!
Rating: Summary: COOL!!! Review: This was my first Steven King Novel, and it won't be my last! I first saw the movie a few weeks ago, and was so taken I bought a copy with my saved allowance! (I'm surprised my Mom let me) Well, I was tickled pink, so I went and piqued my curiosity by asking my Dad for a copy. It was great! I intend to be a King fan from now on! Mr. King, you ROCK!
Rating: Summary: It was good, but not what I expected Review: In Chamberlain, a small New England town, an abused and confused girl learns she has an amazing ability. Her name is Carrie White. Carrie has telekinesis, the power to move objects with the mind. She has been battered by her mother. She has been tormented by her peers since the 1st grade. On prom night, she finnaly snaps at a cruel joke involving pig's blood. She then decides to payback all those who have hurt her. She takes her revenge on them all, plus a few innocents. Strange, that is all I can say. The story lies between exerpts from books written by survivors, and articles from inquisitors.
Rating: Summary: pure evil Review: I love this book. After I started I couldn't put it down. I recommend this book to everyone who loves horror or Stephen King books.
