Rating: Summary: Solid one Review: I read this book first than others by King. I really like it, because I didn't see it as a scary novel, I didn't want something to scare about, I wanted something that capture my attention, and this book made that. Finally, I really, really like that believable conclusion, without disgusting monsters appeared from nothing loved by King in many books.
Rating: Summary: One of King's early and best works. Review: I first read this book in high school and could not put it down. The memory lingers strongly to this day. You are drawn into the pages by the realism and situations that King weaves. Who can forget the awkwardness and cruelties we all faced in high school. We all knew someone like Carrie who was the brunt of the most cruel jokes and pranks. I say the movie did not do justice to the book. For one thing a movie cannot capture the emotion and clarity of things that King so masterfully writes. It's no wonder he became the great author he is today. A sheer masterpiece like this one is a real credit to his talent.
Rating: Summary: An Inferno of Fun Review: tis book was a masterpeice and the second best book by stephan king ever(behind the Shining). i thought it was suspennsive ful and scary in every achinf instatance.
Rating: Summary: I love King's books but this one was not his best. Review: "Carrie" the book is not as good as the movie. I realize that this was his first novel, so I will cut him some slack! I just adored the movie and Sissy Spacek was wonderful. Carrie's mother and classmates pushed her to the limit and she showed them who was boss! Read all of his books!
Rating: Summary: Tight Review: Great book. The story line was awesome and it's some of King's best work. It was the perfect length for my attention span :-)
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This was the first Stephen King book I ever read. It really impressed me and made me want to read more of his books. I read other of his books, but so far, this one still remains my favourite.
Rating: Summary: Quick Reading! Review: Carrie was an interesting book that started off slow ,but near the middle I could not put it down. Reading quickened as the suspense grew. Carrie was an unusual character with extreme problems. What's sad is that many high school students have the same problems of being picked on or bullied. This story was imaginative (What else would you expect from King!) and held my attention throughout the entire book. I especially enjoyed the way he put in clips from papers and magazines to help tell the story. This book was unlike any I currently have read, and I thouroughly enjoyed it!
Rating: Summary: Not one of his better ones...but not bad. Review: I must admit that I disliked King's lack of chapters in this work - the story lost quite a bit of cohesion this way - but at the same time the characterization couldn't have been any better than if the characters really existed. I found Sue Snell's character to be a bit wimpy - not quite what I had in mind for a girl that's supposed to be with "the in crowd" - but the rest were top-notch. The character of Chris Hargensen in particular was perfection, because I frankly wanted to reach into the book and smack her silly. All in all, not a bad read for a beginner King fan, but I still prefer his meatier works (i.e., The Shining, The Dead Zone, etc.)...
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: Well written and very scary! Especially when Carrie flips out
Rating: Summary: Superb Review: This book is a total hit where you can be blown away to the story and come back ALIVE!
