Summary: A sound conclusion of the Flowers in the Attic Series
Review: Seeds of Yesterday is a must-read for anyone who has read the previous four books in the Flowers in the Attic series. This book takes us back to Bart's restored Foxworth Hall, causing poor Cathy to relive her childhood. The foreshadowing and symbolism throughout the series comes together in this conclusion of "The Dollanganger Saga", and rest assured the emotional turmoil will get to you.

Summary: Foxworth Hall Reclaims The Dresden Dolls
Review: Almost half a century has passed since both Cathy and Chris were in Foxworth Hall. When Corrine died fifteen years earlier (in "If There Be Thorns"), she left the mansion to her oldest son Chris, but only until Bart (her favorite grandson) turned twenty-five; then Foxworth Hall would belong to Bart.

So, Cathy and Chris leave their home in California and timidly return to the house that held them prisoner for over three years when they were children. They're met at the door by an old man who claims to be Joel Foxworth, their long-lost uncle. He soon becomes Bart's mentor in the same manner that John Amos was all those years ago, using biblical threats of hell and damnation to manipulate him.

Now with seven people living together in Foxworth Hall (Cathy and Chris, Jory and Melodie, Bart, Cindy, and Joel), there is plenty of drama. For starters, Bart plays an evil part in his brother's (Jory) dancing accident that leaves him handicapped for life. Jory's wife and childhood sweetheart (Melodie) turns to Bart for support and, instead, ends up in his bed. She later abandons Jory completely after giving birth to their twin children, because she's too shallow to remain with a crippled husband.

Many more rifts are made within the family (alot of them with Joel's help), but one that grows wider is the relationship between Cindy and Bart. If you thought Bart's jealousy in "If There Be Thorns" was bad, wait until you read "Seeds of Yesterday". Now Cindy has a chance to retaliate against her vicious brother that she didn't have when she was younger.

Although this book is an improvement after "If There Be Thorns", it doesn't have the same spark as the first two Dollanganger books: "Flowers in the Attic" and "Petals on the Wind". Cathy and Chris are no more than shadowy figures in the story, easily forgotten in the mess of their children's lives. Even though "Seeds of Yesterday" returns to Cathy's point of view, the book still felt like it belonged to Bart since he was the one creating all the chaos.

In short, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this book unless you're already into the Dollanganger series or a big V. C. Andrews fan. In my opinion, this is yet another disjointed story trying (and failing) to outshine "Flowers in the Attic" and "Petals on the Wind". The series mercifully ends with "Garden of Shadows".

Summary: Sad and predictable
Review: Predictable:

Although this is the first book that I read of the series and I don't know if a will read the first three, I can say that you will know exactly what will happen in the next page of the book since the beginning till the end, nevertheless the book will keep you reading and trying to guess what will happen next, of course I would make some changes to the end of the book.

Sad:

First of all is very sad that two brothers love each other in other way than brothers, how many times a woman can be a widow? How many times can a mother catch her daughter in bed with her boyfriend? And I'm not talking about the accidents, the way that Bart made everything his own way... and many things more. This book will really make you cry.

Summary: seeds of yesterday
Review: the book seeds of yesterday was not what i thought it would be. i have every other book in the series and this one was a big letdown. i thought it would have been a more exciting ending. And i did not like barts attitude and how he used his brothers wife. I understand that cathy favored jory.....but bart was just plain evil. But what did sadden me however was how cathy and chris died. I was clearly intruged with their "realationship" and i did want to cry when cathy died as she died a sadder way than chris. I hope to read more VC ANDREWS books in the near future

Summary: the last in the series
Review: Seeds of yesterday is the last of the Foxworth or Dollaganger saga to me Garden of Shadows was the first but thats not my point. as always this book was a great read from start to finish I really hate that this was the last one because through the other four books I have grown quite attached to the family almost like I was one of them this book will also make you cry as It did me for as always the books end in tragedy...well this one doesn't have the same tragedy as say F I T A none the less you could see the foreshadowig of bart in If there be thorns for you knew he would just be the evil charcter in this book and to a degree he is but just as he was long ago he was easily influenced by others instead of takieing up for his own the new chraters that we are introduced to are interesting like Melodie which turns out to be a very weak charcter after Jory's accident she just gives up on him which I thought was wrong of her. Joel who I thought at first was John Amos and the he had somehow survived but I was wrong on that but the two are very similar in the way they want to condemn all women and preach hellfire and brimstone the twins were adorable they reminded me of two twins long ago also the terrible irony of the way Chris dies is just plain sad there are some things that are left up to the reader to decide for your self like who tried to kill Jory? who broke the clipper ship? then who opened the bed room windows of Jory to let the rain get in? yet who put him back in the bed? I am confident I know who did everything but I don't want to spoil anyone who will read the book. I did wish we could have known more about Trevor for he seemed very interesting charcter. Cindy is all grown now for the most part and she has her share of problems as welll. The saddest part of the book is at the end where Cathy relalizes that her time on earth is done and she goes up to the attic one last time to end it where it all began so long ago...

Summary: Same stuff, different book
Review: I would have to agree with most of the other reviewers... this book is by far the worst of the series. This book was probably necessary, as everyone would have been wondering, "what happened next?" after "If there Be Thorns," but I think that the Dollanganger pond had pretty much been fished dry by the time this book came around. There was so much stuff that was just repeats of things that happened in the previous books. It was like the author was thinking, "well, that worked before, let's try it again." Jory is paralyzed, just like his father Julian was; Bart is once again under the control of an older, evil man, just like in the previous book; Cindy is basically a regeneration of Cathy; along comes a set of blond boy-girl twins, just like in the first book. The only good reason to read this book would be to get closure follow the whole story through to the end. The best book of this series by far is the prequel, "Garden of Shadows."

Summary: Not Happily Ever After
Review: the fourth installment into the Dollanger series was probably my least favorite of the series. i mean, the story did have some good points and at times i was really getting into the story but it really had no plot. It just tells the stories of the characters. There is the return of uncle Joel, who is disliked by Cahty and Jory and is often believed to be the cause of the many bad things that happen, but it's never proved if he was actually a bad person or just overly reliogous. The characters that i did enjoy were Bart and Jory. their lives had many disappointments and it was interesting to see how they handled them. the only person i couldnt stand was Cindy. OMG she was sooo annoying! no one cares about a poor little rich girl. cathy was again the narrator of the story. her complaining gets to be too much at times but you have to feel for her after what happened to her. a very depressing book, but you have to read it to finish off the story. also most people seemed to be turned off from the prequel "Garden of Shadows" because they were so disappointed with this book but you have to read it. it's too good to miss.

Summary: AWESOME!!
Review: Just another amazing read in my favorite VC Andrews series, FITA. I devoured this book in less that a day. It ties up all the loose ends aside from why the grandmother was as cruel as she was, but that is remedied in the 5th book, Garden of Shadows. This book is a homerun when it comes to completing the story of Cathy and Chris. This as well as all my other VC Andrews books earns a permanently place on my shelf.
