Rating: Summary: I loved this book!!! Review: This is a story of a great tradegy with really no bad guys. It was one of the most saddest books I have ever read. This book has made me into a die hard Stephen King fan and I am definately glad I bought this book!
Rating: Summary: Mediocre Review: Upon completing this long read, I decided to rate it as "merely adequate". Barely in the same quality-level as books such as Desperation and The Dark Half, this book's beginning, which was indeed very captivating and action-packed, came to an abrupt halt about midway. The profound and vivid portrayals of the townspeople was indeed necessary, but King, unfortunatly, elongated them to such an extent that I had to sometimes give up reading for long periods of time due to utter boredom. Nonetheless, the many wonderous characteristics of this novel redeems the novel to a point where it is worth the time. All of King's books are uniquely written.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books ever! Review: Bobbi Anderson has stumbled onto something big. What she has discovered is a spaceship. This spaceship ends up changing and killing every one in the town she lives in and would have destroyes the world if her dear friend (who she had tried to kill) had not stoped it. This book shows how Bobbi Anderson goes from being a shy author to a sick and twisted alien. This book is a must read for everyone!
Rating: Summary: A fair book Review: +AH4-This book is unusual. It's very boring at some parts (I fell asleep reading this book). There's only a few exciting parts but they wear off fast. You should try reading his better books first.+AH4-
Rating: Summary: One of His Better Books Review: I could'nt put it down and have re-read it many times. His older work is definitey top notch. No more though in this readers mind.
Rating: Summary: A complete waste of time Review: I thought perhaps all of the praise Stephen King receives would be for a reason. I guess not. This book, as well as all of King's books, goes nowhere fast. The characters and the plot are both dull and tired.
Rating: Summary: very good novel Review: The book was good. It was the first King novel I have ever read and it got me totally addicted to his novels. The story totally lets your imagination run wild. Who cares if he doesn't tell you where the aliens came from. Thats what makes the novel mysterious. The little side stories were part of the big picture. A big part of this story is the effect that the ship had on the towns people since the begining. It seams like the people who talk bad about this book don't know how to appreciate anything but the tail end of the story and they get annoyed at having to understand the whole thing.
Rating: Summary: too many pages Review: This book got boring after a while. Sure, it's exciting in the starting with the digging up of the spaceship and the end also, but in between King just goes on about little side stories about things happening to the people of the town, which were mostly boring and time-consuming. If you want to read this book, read a shortened edition without all the useless information in the middle.
Rating: Summary: This was definatly a stephen king book Review: I thought this book was good but a little out of this world. I might only be 15 but i have read alot of science fiction novels. This one takes the cake for wierdness. After you get past the first two or three chapters it gets very good and you can't put it down. If you are an avid Stephen king reader then i would advise reading this book.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books? Review: I think it is maybe the best book i ever have read. But i also think that the film was better.
