Summary: Good book, yet somewhat strange..
Review: When I picked up If there be thorns, I was happy to see that it was from a males point of view. Bart truly scared me, and I was eager to get the the chapters Jory wrote. Although I agree that Cathy and Chris' "marriage" was pretty wrong, but it wouldn't be interesting if she didn't marry him. <g> I think that this book was well written, despite some of its minor flaws. Don't skip this book, for even if it isn't the best work of V.C. Andrews, its a good read, and it develops some of the characters more.

Summary: Captivating
Review: I almost hate to admit how captivated I was by this book. I've read Flowers in the Attic, but skipped the Petals on the Wind and started on this book. At the beginning I was kind of lost but eventually caught on to the storyline. All I have to say about Chris and Cathy's relationship is SICK. The way that Andrews tries to portray their relationship as acceptable and attempts to get the reader to sympathize is also sick but she is very talented at the art of persuasion. It was not as well-written as her first novel and I became increasingly annoyed at the hatefulness of their youngest son Bart and how he was so easily convinced by John Amos. Also, I was annoyed on how slack his parents were about his punishment. The ending was by far the best portion of the novel. If it were not for this I would have come away very disappointed. The ending makes you eager to read the sequel.

Summary: I loved it
Review: I think this book was really good...even if it did have it's odd point

Summary: Wake up - it's incest!
Review: The strange thing about this series is that the author has a way of making you start to feel that the life that these characters are living is okay. When you really know that that is the farthest thing from the truth. What I liked about this particular book in the series is that you were kind of slapped in the face at the end so to speak by their young son of all people. Who reminds you in no uncertain terms that what is going on is wrong and unlawful for that matter. I thought that it was a pretty good read.

Summary: Guarnateed to draw blood
Review: This book is very different from other V.C. Andrews' other third books in a series because it focuses on sons instead of a daughter, and it's doubly narrated. Which makes it interesting and unique. I felt so awful when I saw how manipulated Bart was by John Amos Jackson. And Cathy finally made peace with her mother, even though it was near the end and despite my previous feelings toward her before, I liked her mother and almost wished she was my grandma! Overall a great book. You'll never stop turning the pages!

Summary: BIG DISAPOINTMENT!
Review: After reading "Flowers.." and "Petals..", I thought that this one would be just as good, or even better, but I was disapointed at the plot and the story line. It mostly surrounds Cathy's young son Bart, who narrates it and does awful things to hurt his family, just because some old man tells him to. I didn't understand that whole issue. Another thing is, is that it surrounds this one summer of his life, where usually this series spands over many years in the course of the character's lives. Cathy and Chris' "marriage" was gross and unrealistic. Jory and Cindy's characters should have been developed more. The ending is the only part I felt that should have been read.

Summary: A FILLER!~
Review: well- i LOVE sequels but this was just a bunch of soap opera gibberish- i mean poor little Bart is out of control and how do you say john amos' name -is it john Amoss, or john Amo or john amose this book is just a bunch of laddydah that should be kicked out- and I dont know about you but this was way to out of hand with all that religous gods revenge- but as an andrews reader it wasn't horrible.

Summary: Putrid, yet scintilating
Review: I liked this book, but I disliked the part in the story where Cathy is revealed to have been involved in the Hoffa assassination. It was kind of a stretch.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The book was very well written and is a classic
