Summary: A good book but very confusing
Review: I read the book pet sematary by stephan king. I didnt get the concept of the book because it switched to differant places and it was hard to understand where it was at in the story. It would change without even saying it changed. This book is about a doctor who moves to a new town out in the country and he lives acrossed the street from a guy named Jud Crandal and his wife. They become friends and the doctor is at Jud's house every night having a beer. One day Jud takes the doctor on a hike to a place that will change his life forever. BAH ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ

Summary: 5 out of 5. a must read
Review: Stephen King is a master writer, and this book is no exception. Set in the 80's, the main character, Louis Creed, moves into a new house in Ludlow, Maine. There's something a bit too perfect about the house, though. Nearby, there is a tract of land that has had dark uses, dating back centuries upon centuries. Overall, I give this book a 5 out of 5.

Summary: Pet Semitary
Review: In Pet Semitary Stephen King uses many different literary devices, but one that stands out the most is foreshadowing. In the novel John and his family move into a new house and meet some interesting neighbors across the street. They tell him about a trucking company that used to drive through the neighborhood all the time and would end up hitting the people's pets. The kids took their pets to a field after they got hit and bury them giving it the name Pet Semitary. John's daughter terry owns a cat and they talked about how in their old house they were secluded and the cat didn't have to worry about crossing the street and getting hit. Stephen King foreshadows the cat getting hit by a car because their new neighbors were warning them about keeping their cat inside as much as possible because animals always seem to get hit on the street they live on.

The author, Stephen King, also foreshadows the animals coming back to life. The neighbor said that he herd of peoples pets coming back and haunting them, almost like a revenge for not keeping them safe and that is why people keeping moving in and out of that house. All of the previous owners pets are still in the house haunting it and when the cat gets hit and comes back with the other animals it is expected. I just knew that they were going to come and haunt the family because of the foreshadowing.

Stephen King also uses personification in his novel Pet Semitary. When the animals come back to haunt the house he has them talking to each other. They also talk to John and his family and their cat especially because it yells at the family and writes messages on the wall. This is personification because the animals are given human characteristics. Not only do the animals talk and write they are also organized like a group of humans would be organized. This isn't completely personification but the way they are acting is much like a human therefore making them different then just animals.

Summary: One of King's Poorer Efforts
Review: A family moves to a house with an Indian Cemetary on the property. The cemetary has a curse on it and things buried there seem (the family dog) seem to come back to life. All through the first half of the book we keep being shown large Orono fuel trucks whizzing past the front of the house. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that someone in the family will be hit by one of those trucks and then get buried in the cemetary to be brought back to life.

Did I say predictable? Well not to give away the ending, I will just say that you can see it coming a mile away.

I think that this is one of the books King was cranking out when he was also doing movies. Most of that work was his poorer efforts.

Don't get me wrong, I think King has had some phenominal efforts, such as The Stand, Misery, The Long Walk and something about Rita Hayworth (they made the movie The Shawshank Redemption based on it).

Summary: A man grows what he can......and tends to it
Review: Pet Sematary is yet another bone-chilling novel written by Stephen King. If you enjoyed Cujo, then youll like this book. I found the movie Pet Sematary rather disappointing. It left out all of the suspense that King was able to put into words. Stephen King really shows off his writing abilities in this book. He has been writing for nearly 40 years. The overall message I got from this book was that giving in to temptation can have a horrible aftermath. Of all the books hes written in the last 38 years, this one has become a personal favorite of mine.
The Creed family got more than they bargained for when they moved to the countryside of Ludlow, Maine. It was grim from the start when a bicycle accident landed Victor Pascow in the infirmary where he eventually bled to death. But before Victor parted, he gave Louis Creed a startling message that left him questioning his sanity. Jud Crandall meant no harm when he introduced Louis to the Pet Sematary, but it was this action that began all of the horror.
Stephen King has a very unique writing style; thats what has kept me interested in him. Even his sentence structure seems suspenseful. Its near impossible to put the book down. The dialect that King gave Jud Crandall added that humorous bit that most all books have; Ayuh, you just wanna watch em around that rud, Missus Creed. Lots of big trucks on that rud. King includes several flashbacks throughout the book. He goes from the present (1983) back to when he was a small boy and then to when he was in college.
Jud Crandall is the kind of person youd expect to see in any small town. King gives Crandall the image of the wise old owl. The 80-year-old man had lived in Ludlow all of his life and knew every nook and cranny of Louis Creeds property as well as what lay just beyond it. You can see the characters personality develop through their actions and thoughts. Louis Creed goes from an average family man to a crazed lunatic driven by his ability to use the Micmac burial ground to defy the idea of life and death.
Its a very good book; considered to be a classic by many. Though, I found the end a bit disappointing. I turned the page half-expecting for there to be another chapter or two, but it wasnt there. He really just left you hanging at the end. Never the less, I consider this a must read. And remember as you read, sometimes dead is better. -Jud Crandall

Summary: Scary and dark, for the most part
Review: "Pet Sematary," the story of a burial ground that allows the dead to be revived with a more evil upgrade, is indeed scary. It is not only scary in the spooky conventional sense, but there are other fears presented that are more human, such as the loss of loved ones and our own fear of dying. These fears plague us more than fears of ghosts or monsters.
With this novel, Stephen King chose to build build more horror through suspense than in the actual events that transpire. This is clever and keeps you reading. Then he may jump out and surprise you with something else. It's a technique used in film. I'll give you an example: a woman slowly walks up to a closet, thinking the killer's there. The music heightens as she slowly opens the door, then stops when it is open and there is nothing there. There is a sigh of relief, but then, THE KILLER'S BEHIND HER! King knows how to do this, how to hit us.
Why not five stars? I thought the ending was kind of, if you'll pardon the pun, dead and disappointing. I expected to turn the page and see another chapter, but it wasn't there. And after all those pages and all that scary stuff!
Still there are enough chilling moments to make this a good novel and a must-read for any Stephen King fan. If you would like to see the movie, just be warned: some things are slightly different. I was not happy with this, especially since King had at least some creative control.

Summary: Pet Sematary
Review: If you've already seen the movie Pet Sematary you've got to read the book. To me the book is ten times scarier, better and will keep you on your toes. The book is written in a way that it almost makes you not want to put it down. Always something new going on. That's a big plus to me seeing I'm not a big book reader, I would just rather go straight to the movie.
The story is about the Creed family who moves from a big city to a small town. The house they move into may be big and beautiful but there are some dark secrets that come along with it. The dark secrets would be in their back yard down a long dirt path leading to an old peaceful pet cematary, and then on to an evil Indian burial ground.
In this book many things are going on with death and coming back to life. The father Louis Creed starts the whole issue of coming back from death by bringing their daughters cat back to life. That would be the biggest mistake he could of made, and the mistake doesn't stop there. Yes, it keeps going on after that. You won't believe what will happen next, so go grab the book it will be well worth it.
It was so scary I had trouble sleeping with my cat at night. Basically I just had trouble sleeping at all. Very scary and very addictive. It's a must read!! And always remember this as you read sometimes dead is better.

Summary: zombies here zombies there even in your...
Review: Louis Creed is an average doctor who dreams of being an emergancy rescue for Disney Land. He has a charming wife with a intellegent little daughter. Their little son who curses is the energetic one keeping the humor... They have a cat named Church who was hit by a truck and killed. From there on out this story is a blood freezing, screech fest. That is a good thing by the way. I like the realism in this book. Mr. King, this is one of your finest works. People complain about the ending that they never seem to have a direct end to them.[....] THOSE SPINLESS FOOLS.I would rather have an ending that lets you use your imagination. Unfourtanatly people have to have things made out for them. Yeah right. I beg of you to read this book. It has everything that makes a horror story a horror story. Plus this book makes you really think, [...]. Would you really want your loved ones coming back from the dead, there but not? Whole but empty? Human but not? Alive but distant? Would you? This book inspires me to exept the inevidable. That when a loved one is gone they're dead and buried. Dead and finished...

IT RULES!!!![....] Any way the reason this is so good is because of they character development. I felt incomplete when I finished (was ripped away ) from Louis Creed's enigma. Who knows what happened at the end when Louises wife was revived? Was he murdered? Did they just dissapper into nothingess. Did he go back to the Pet Semetary and get touched by the infamous Wendigo??? Who knows...not me.

Summary: Who Knows?
Review: I'm currently reading Pet Sematary and only on page 62, so far. The book seems to be for people a lot older than I am, but I don't care I like it so far. I haven't had anything scary or bone-chilling happen yet, and I'm anxiously waiting...
