Rating: Summary: Excellent. If you saw the movie you havn't done it justice. Review: I enjoyed this book Pet Semetary immensely. It has just enough suspense and thriller in it to keep you motivated, but not terrified. All of Stephen King's books are superb. He is in my opinion on the most creative writers of these times.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Story, Excellent Description, Exciting Twists Review: This was another excellent book by Stephen King. The plot was chilling and twisty. It was kind of hard to understand right away but at the end it comes together. Great description and plot.
Rating: Summary: Good Book and plenty Scary! Review: This was a good book from King and it was actually pretty scary at times, especially when he was digging up his son in the graveyard. The characters were a little under developed, but in any case it was a great book.
Rating: Summary: writing - excellent; plot - needs a little help . . . Review: I've been a fan of Stephen King's ever since I read 'Carrie' five years ago, and I consider him one of my writing role models. When I picked up 'Pet Sematery', I expected something more. The book was well written in terms of characterization (although Creed needs a little help), but the plot left me wanting more. I felt that I had been a bit shortchanged, because I believed that King could do a lot better. Once I had finished, my mind kept going over the possibilities with the pet sematery and its certain 'magic'. It was a good idea for a plot, just not greatly executed. I'm sorry that I didn't enjoy it, because all of his other books thrilled me beyond imagination. The man is definitely a prime example of horror fiction.
Rating: Summary: Chilling and classy---can this really be Stephen King? Review: Some of King's other novels are truly frightning, but this one sticks out from the rest as being chillingly effective in a totally different way. A brilliant concept, and original execution. Words can't describe how classy this book is, how marvellous every word is. It's a classic the whole way through, and the ending! Superb! Anyone who read one of King's other works and then read this one, stripped of its cover or anything that told them who wrote it, would be hard-pressed to think of Stephen King. Absolutely essential to any horror collection.
Rating: Summary: As bad as the movie Review: I thought this was one of the worst books I have ever read. Like reading about a movie. It's the only King book I have read I am sure Some must be better.
Rating: Summary: It was a great read I encourage others to read it. Review: A family moves to an odd house in a peaceful suburb and goes good for a while.A kindhearted chain smoker a perfect neighbor! until things start to go very wrong.this book is not for the weak hearted!
Rating: Summary: a masterpiece of horror Review: This book is an absolute masterpiece of horror, and easily the most disturbing book ive ever read. Profound, intelligent, visceral, and shocking, Pet Sematary is must reading for every serious fan of the horror/psychological thriller genre. One of many things in this book that sets it apart from the rest in its genre is the way that the evil is kept nameless and faceless: it is this gigantic, hideous monstrosity that is only seen indirectly in the horrible effects it has on bodies in which it inhabits. This book is in a class by itself. The only books that have come close to disurbing me this much are some of the short stories in Clive Barker's Books of Blood series, and PARTS of some of Barker's and Dean Koontz's novels.
Rating: Summary: A truely creepy book! Review: This book is a must read for King fans. This book is page turner and will keep on the edge of your seat from the begining to the end. A really creepy novel!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: this book rules Review: This novel was the first horror story I've ever read... and before that I was convinced that it's impossible to get scared just by reading a book. Well I was wrong...the part where Louis unburries his dead son and takes him to the cematary and when his son returnes filled with evil... this was a book that I couldn't put away 'till the end. I recommend it to everyone that like reading good books. And something else...read it at daytime... you 'll be less scared (yeah right) :)
