Summary: Not Good, not Bad
Review: I read "Pet Sematary" this year and thought it was well written to where I could understand the plot easily. This book made it easy for me to picture what Stephen King was saying. Every detail was brought out good and I could clearly picture it in my mind. But overall it was a little boring and I didn't get scared. It said on the back cover that Stephen King scared himself writing this book, and if this is true he must be afraid of just about anything. It was scaring, it got boring on some parts and wasn't real entertaining. If you want to read this book, I would say read it on your on risk.

Summary: Scary!
Review: This is a scary book. I know you're probably thinking, it's nothing, but it's that scary! P.S.: Dare you to read it at night! Anyway this book is about the Creed family, Louis, Rachel their daughter and their baby son. They move from Chicago to of course, Maine. Everything seems great, oh I forgot they have a cat named Church. Everything seems great but they didn't know there was a terror haunting them... such as a Pet Sematary(spelling) which will make their horrors come true! Because the pet's seem dead but are they really? Anyway it's that scary and I strongly suggest you buy this book off of amazon. It's worth your money. Very scary! Trust me! So scary! Buy it now! Hurry!

Summary: king explores death
Review: 'Pet Sematary' is Stephen King toying with death; causing it in his writing, and then illustrating its devastating power and electrifying effects.

It is not an easy book to read - someone like myself, by no means a literary buff, just a voracious reader, will struggle to keep track of all the ideas about death that King throws your way. Also at times Jud's stories about Micmac's, Wendigo's and the past were difficult to get through.

The characters in it are fantastic... but somehow I feel I really only know Louis and Jud. Comparing this to the only other King book I have read, Needful Things, this is surprisingly short of well developed and rounded out characters. Having said that, it is less than half the length, and the novel does not suffer for it.

Yes, it is a scary book. Mainly because death is a huge fear for us all... not so much our own deaths, but the deaths of those close to us. The horror builds throughout, to a point where I was pleading with Louis not to do this and not to do that. Like any great novel, it keeps you turning the pages. The ending was a slight letdown... but in retrospect the book is so good that any ending would have been an anti climax.

Overall, Pet Sematary is a well developed and complex look at death and its many faces. Horrifying.....

Summary: Pretty good. Not his best, not his worst
Review: Let me just start off saying: I'm a HUGE King fan..BUT, in this case, I didn't really enjoy this one as much as some others. It starts off FANTASTIC and really has the potential to be a great book. But after a while (mainly after Gage dies)it just becomes, well, STUPID! I couldn't put the book down though...it was a pretty good read for the most part. The ending, although not Kings worst, is just strange and dumb. Not his best, not his worst. 50/50 recommendation. Some may like it, some may not.

Summary: big steve's scariest, and therefore best, novel
Review: His intention is, I believe, primarily to scare us, is it not? PET SEMETERY far exceeds any of his other novels in this regard (only THE MIST, if you consider it a novel, and SALEM'S LOT are even in the same league). Therefore, I conclude that this is his finest work. The raw, gruesome horror and familiar Maine setting might make it seem less ambitious than MISERY or THE STAND, for example, but I don't think that those atypical works succeed as well at capturing the essence of what King is all about--fear. This book terrifies us by creating a remarkably chilling setting (the Indian burial ground, isolated in the middle of a forbidding wilderness), and putting the main character's family, friends, and even sanity at risk--and then some. Some people don't like it because they find it TOO scary and disturbing. To me, that is the ultimate praise you could give a King novel. Come to think of it, I can't think of another novel by anyone that you could say that about--which is a tremendous compliment to King. As successful as he is, in some ways he is might be underrated--nah.

Summary: The Best Horror Story
Review: I picked up this book in a grocery store to pass the time down in Florida but, when I got home I was hooked. Pet Cemetary is the best horror story I have read in a long time. King really knows how to make the characters come alive and he makes you think you are really in there with them living and feeling like they are. This is my first Stephen King book and it will not be the last.

Summary: Eeeeek!
Review: I read this for the first time when I was 15 and found that I simply could not put it down. At the same time, I also found myself terrified to turn the page.

Unlike the movies, there was no eye covering, or crouching down behind your seat - although I tried!

Creepy....but an excellent read. More likely a 4 1/2 star rating. Couldn't give it a 5, as IT remains my favourite Stephen King!

Summary: Keep the lights on!
Review: This audiobook scared the hell out of me. While listening to it alone in a quiet room I found myself looking over my shoulder just to make sure that no evil little monster was there waiting to pounce on me. this story is full of horrors both supernatural and human. This all blends well together to give the listener a real horrifying experience. After listening to it you'll want to listen to some nice soothing music or watch some comedy to get your mind off what you just heard. Beware however if you hear a loud knock at your door or if someone visits you in your sleep. I wont give the plot away but to say that its about a family which moves to small town Main and who will undergo several horrific changes. the audio pruduction is second to none and the acting is tops. buy this and prepare to be frightened.
