Summary: Read this novel, then, pick your jaws off the floor
Review: This novel should be read by all. Whatever genre of reading you prefer, this beautiful work will apply. Absolutely stunning and a true masterpiece. Out of thousands of books I have read, this one immediately became my favorite. I can not express how utterly perfect this novel is, but I will insist that you should read it. It's novels like this that continue my love of literature. Let me repeat one word as an overall review : stunning.

Summary: What a Life!
Review: I work at a library. I've done so for over 14 years, first, because I love research and working with the public...secondly, and most important of all...because I love books. I read on the average, several hundred per year. Well, of the several thousand books I've read in these past 14 years, none come close to attaining the sheer perfection of story telling as a Boy's Life does. The word perfection is not an over statement either. From the very first page I realized I was reading something rare and wonderful. Now, I could go into the details of the plot, but you can read the Kirkus Review at the begining of all of this and get an overview. It's how the book affects those that read it that's important here. I can promise that you will come away from this reading experience with feelings that range from wonder to elation. You will have a difficult time coming to terms with the fact that the story has ended and there are no more pages left to turn. You will tell everyone you know to read a Boy's Life, knowing that even the most reading challenged will fall in love with this story and all the vivid characters that live within it. It's beautiful. It's brilliant. Read it now.

Summary: Favorite Book of all time, thank YOU Robert R......
Review: This is simply my favorite book of all time. They characters draw you in and make you part of their realm: this book,( like Gormenghast), made me cry when I was finished, for I knew I wouldn't be with these characters anymore. Sound weird, read it and weep! Loved it.

Summary: This is one of the best of all time.
Review: This, to me, is the most intriguing book, and my favorite, I have ever read, and I have read many, many books. This story reminds many of us of the children we used to be, when our imaginations and dreams dealt with flying bikes, of being able to fly, monsters in the closet and under the bed, witches, voodoo, and all sorts of things that children love to think about. Imagination was limitless in this awesome novel about a young hero named Cory who finds out about a lot about the small town he lives in and the people in it. It is a mystery story, a magical fairy tale, and a story of life, of many different stories of many different people as seen through the curious eyes of a young boy. I could not set this book down and with every turn of every page made me hungry for more of this very satisfying story that absolutely fed my imagination. I recommend this to anyone out there, and I believe that even though many people don't read as much as they would like to that they would not deny the effect of this novel on the mind, the inspiration it provides, and how when one finishes reading it, will want to turn to the first page and read it again and again, and again. It is sad, triumphant, mystical, humorous, and unbelievably suspenseful, a great read for those who still have not forgotten their own power to let their imaginations soar.

Summary: I HATE READING... or HATED
Review: I've been reading these reviews, and it seems that most of the them are written by avid readers. I, on the otherhand hate to read and only by the force of a teacher would I pick up a book. I chose this book because of its high ratings on Amazon.com, purchased it, and began to read. There are no books previous to this one that I have enjoyed, simply because I have never found a book that interested me fully until Boy's Life. I couldn't put down the book and eagerly flipped the pages. Every page had something interesting and enchanting written on it. After finishing the story, I quickly began proclaiming the goodness of the book to anyone who would listen. If you're contemplating buying this book... Just take this review as an example and think... If it can turn a person who absolutely despises reading, and turn them into an avid reader themselves... then it must be a pretty decent book!... Read it...You'll enjoy it as much as I have.

Summary: A beautifully touching book
Review: This will be the first review I have written and I do it because this book is that good. The story is well written, the characters are well developed and has enough action to keep you interested. However, what makes this book GREAT is that it is written as seen through the eyes of a 12 year old and contains enough magic so you read it through the heart of a 12 year old. You will remember the earlier days of your own life with both a smile and a tear. I think this is one of the best 10 books I have ever read. My review will now become one of many other 5-star ratings and therefore not really necessary to be written, but the author deserves these comments and I choose not to withhold. I feel very comfortable recommending this book especially if you have a 12 year old alive in you, or would like to again, even if only for a moment.

Summary: Another hit by McCammon
Review: McCammon has done it again with one of his most recent books "Boys Life". Here, again, McCammon's vivid and horrible imagination is put to work with another smashing hit. Like all of his other books it is a horror story on a young boy's life in a small town of alabama. All I can say is that the book was amazing to me and enjoy reading it over and over again.

Summary: Grade: A+
Review: Ok. I admit it...I'm not much of a reader. Being a busy high school student, I don't consider reading very "fun." However, what started out as an arduous summer reading assignment turned out to be...well...WOW! I ended up reading the book again several months later, just because I enjoyed it so much.

McCammon's style of writing is excellent - but not so advanced that you wanna fall asleep. I had no trouble keeping my eyes open for this book (which is something I can't say for my Chemistry book... :) ), and I was actually eager to find out the ending to the story.

The fictional story seemed so real and pure to me, it almost seemed like an autobiography. With several sub-stories woven together, McCammon reminds us all of the magic of being a child.

Summary: Just Okay
Review: I thought Boy's Life was an interesting book. It had several aspects such as drama, suspense, mystery, and even a little bit of romance. The book only received four stars from me because I solved the mystery before the end of it.Even though I had solved the mystery before the end of the book, it kept me turning pages because the other aspects were still good.

Summary: Capture the Magic
Review: Boy's Life is a novel written by Robert R. McCammon about the adventures of a boy named Cory. This novel encompasses the themes or mystery, adventure, science fiction, and faith. Cory and his father witness a murder and throughout the book Cory tries to unveal the mystery of what happened at Saxon's Lake that horrific morning. Despite the fact that this mystery is the main point of the novel, the plot goes on to tell of Cory's interactions with his classmates, teachers, friends, and the townspeople of Zephyr. While reading this novel, I felt as if I were growing up with Cory and understanding his every thoughts at motives. Robert R. McCammon is very descriptive, and his literary devices painted a vivid image in my mind while reading. Throughout the novel, Cory has to deal with the adversities of death, betrayal, crime, poverty, and bullies. This novel builds your imaginations and thus allows you to capture the magic for the first time if you haven't already.
