Summary: A magical, memorable book!
Review: I first read Boy's Life years ago, and I loved it from page one. I no longer lend this book to friends, but instead buy them their own copy. The sheer magic of this story is hard to put into words. I've read most of Mr. McCammon's other books and enjoyed them, especially Swan Song, but Boy's Life is in a class all by itself. Here you will revisit the joy and pain of being 12 years old, in a small town populated with some very unusual people. From the baseball mound to the ancient "Lady" to the mysterious creature in the lake, this is the life you craved as a child. Why not have a piece of it now? Read this book!

Summary: The best book I've ever read!!!
Review: This is the best book I've ever read. I read a lot of different genres, and this is by far my favorite of all the books I've read. Even my brother, who reads horror and fantasy, and my mother, who reads romance novels, loved this book. Everyone I've recommended it to has loved it. I've read it three times now, and plan on reading it again soon. READ THIS BOOK!!! You won't regret it...

Summary: This book is a must read for all high school students
Review: Robert McCammon's Boy's Life is one of my favorites. I have just read it for the third time, and this fall, I will be teaching it to my 10th grade class for the first time. Boy's Life combines many outstanding themes in its pages: coming of age, good vs. evil, etc., but the theme I will underscore most in my classroom is the one that impressed me; i.e., magic is as much a part of a child's life as any real occurrence. The tinge of magic in the often incomprehensible world of reality makes negotiating everyday life much easier. Anyone interested in reading one other book of McCammon's (the only other one, as far as I know) that departs from the horror genre, read Gone South. This, too, is a very good book with memorable characters, situations and themes. I would love to see Robert McCammon write more straight fiction that is not in the horror category. I enjoyed both Boy's Life and Gone South very much. He is an author worth knowing.

Summary: One of My Top Ten of All Time
Review: What an amazing book! I've read it 3 times now, and each time I find it exciting and illuminating. McCammon has blended magic and art so deftly, that it is what I can only call "page-turning, heart-pounding, serious literature". Few novelists of the current era have offered such a beautiful, moving, and redeeming tale.

Summary: THE BEST BOOK OUT THERE!!!
Review: At one time, I thought there were so many books out there that it would be impossible to pick THE favorite one of mine. When I was recommended "Boy's Life" at a local bookstore, I was hooked and read it in a week. I even bought copies for my friends and THEY loved it. A very engrossing and touching book that has its little nuances...one that i could read over and over again. McCammon developes his characters well...and although it doesn't seem like a mystery, it is! Again, wonderful job, McCammon, wonderful job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Young boy learns of life from series of strange events.
Review: Robert McCammon has written one of the most heartening books in Boy's Life that may well ever be written. This tale is so enrapturing because it does remind us that we are all kids at heart and that we all wish to stay that way. The story is overwhlelming as it relates the main character's, Cory Mackenson, coming of age to his father's inablilty to shake the image of a horrific murder that almost took his own life and continues to haunt him. The cast of characters is unending with everything from an ancient "lady" to a river monster not unlike Nessie to kkk members to a heady bicycle with a mind of its own. He hits on the things that make chilhood the best. From the movies with friends to baseball to the death of the family dog, McCammon is right on. All of the emotions brought out are real and that is what makes this novel so spellbinding. It is very hard to put down and is very distraughtful after it is over. I would call this novel a tour de force but what! novel has not been called that. It is definitely one the three best novels I have ever read, and when anyone asks for a recommendation for a book to read this is always the first that I suggest because I believe that it is one that anyone can read. McCammon's descriptions can paint a picture better than any Monet and some say that is not capable out of a male writer. And, although things, places and people do change, the memories are always there to keep you company.McCammon reminds us to keep these in mind even as we grow old. This will help us to remain kids at heart.
