Rating: Summary: Don't Look Behind You Review: Don't Look Behind You by Lois Duncan was a great book. When I first started reading this book I thought that it was going to be about a girl in the eleventh grade at Springside Academy who was going to be ripped away from her every day life. This story took place in Norwood, Virginia just south of Washington D.C., and then moves to Grove City, Florida. The main character, April, is a junior and has a chance at the state tennis championship. Her father, Mr. Corrigan, works at an airport and got involved in drug smuggling. Max, a long time childhood friend of his, came to him and asked him to go under cover for the FBI as one of the smugglers. A hit man by the name of Vamp was hired to kill April's father because he thought that Mr. Corrigan didn't know what he had done. He soon found out. His family was put into the witness protection program. They thought that it would only be a few days, but instead it was for a couple of weeks. April, the daughter, always said what she thought, which made her personality very strong. She was a very outspoken girl because she always said what she thought. Lois Duncan made sure to show April's life before the incident so that after the whole incident was over you could see how much it affected her. It's very hard to know what it feels like to have your whole life erased as well as your past, but Duncan makes it very clear and made it fascinating to read about. He showed that life could be perfect one day and ripped to shreds the next day. The reason I picked this book was that the title caught my attention. Don't Look Behind You was the perfect title for this book. The title is what had me from the beginning. I would recommend this book to any person that loves adventure stories.
Rating: Summary: Its Impossible Not to Look Back On This Book Review: Dont Look Behind You, by Lois Duncan you was a great book. Not only did I read this book in one day, but I did not put it down once. This book is about a seventeen-year-old girl named April Corrigan who had a perfect life until her under-cover FBI agent father was almost shot and was threatened to be killed. Now the family has to go into hiding at a Federal Witness Unit Program, so that they are safe, and her life is ruined. She cant communicate with her old friends and her past will have to put behind her and she is told not to look back. Lois Duncan's style of writing is definitely unique. He always finished a chapter with a clever and intriguing sentence. It was impossible to put the book down, because of the crazy occurrences that one would see through out this book. The way this book is written makes you feel like the character is your best friend, as though you know them so well...you could read them like a book. Lois Duncan made sure to clearly show what April's life was like before the tragic change. So that when you compared her old life, with her new one you could surly see why April was so deeply affected, this made you get to know the character better. April always said what she thought, making her personality very obvious, she was clever and smart but always stood by what she believe in. I could definitely feel as though I was a part of this controversy, like I was there watching the whole book come to real life. The plot was very believable, all the things Mr. Duncan wrote about were believable yet rare. It was hard to know to know so much about FBI agents and their conditions. Its also very hard to know what it feels like having to erase your past, but the author makes it very clear, so its fascinating to hear about. He made you see that life could be perfect one day, and horrible the next. That reality was much scarier then April had known it would be at first, and that people usually don't know what they have until its gone in life. He made this very clear because he showed how hard the change was for April, and how much she missed the past. It was very important that this book was realistic. It gave you chills because you knew that this could happen one day, and because it could happen when you least expect it. Reality is what made this book so exciting, and so wild. The title, Dont Look Behind You, is the perfect title for this book. The title was what had me so interested in it, in the first place! Its a wonderful title for a wonderful book.

Rating: Summary: CRAP Review: I hated this book in my opinion. It was boring and predictable. Not so great. I liked a few parts in the story, like when they were moved also given new identity and a new life that was why I gave it 2 stars out of 5 stars. I didn't like this book a lot because April(main character) made so many stupid mistakes that could have cost her life. In reality people people do panic under stress but in the book they over-exjurated. i read other books by Lois Duncan and it's the same mistake. I am not planning to read another book by Lois Duncan.
Rating: Summary: Heart-Stopping Action Review: Don't Look Behind You is about a girl named April and her family who has to go under the Witness Protection Program to avoid hitmen who are hunting them down. April then has to adjust to her new life, but has a difficult time letting go of her past. In the book, you'll see how April and her family adapt to the changes going on around them and if April can pull through for the safety of her family.Don't Look Behind You is one of the most suspenseful stories I've read in awhile. It now stands as my most favorite Lois Duncan book. The plot is great and I loved how Duncan orders the events that happen in the story. However, there are one or two things I didn't like very much. I always find in Duncan's books that I don't agree with the characters, so with this book it is no different. Perhaps it's because I've never had to face the challenges these characters have to face, but I couldn't help but feel that the girl, April, made some decisions that ended up with very bad consequences that could've been easily avoided if she had just thought things through enough. Other than that, I thought the book was simply awesome. I would definitely recommend this book especially to people who enjoy just heart stopping action.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book Review: The book Killing Mr. Griffith was a good book. It entertained me most of the time, and I am a very hard person to keep entertained. I read this book about seven or eight months ago. The highschool I went to had a program that was called AR Testing. This program required very kid in the school to read atleast two book severy nine weeks and then take test on them. You have to pass your test with atleast an eithy percent to earn credit for a portion of your English class that you are taking. So with all this time I had to read, I kept myself interested by reading alot of Luis Duncan books, and Don't look behind you was one of them. Dont look behind you was like another version of The movie and the book, I know what you did last summer. Some kids go take a vacation and They just blew the incident off and went on acting like nothing had happened. They had no idea what they had gotten themseleves into. Little did they know, what they had hit would come back to get revenge. I recommend this book because it's interesting.
Rating: Summary: A Great Duncan Novel Review: Don't Look Behind You, is one of the best Lois Duncan novels' I have ever read. It tells you the story of April who is forced to leave her life, and start a new one. She must leave her straight-A's, tennis team, great friends, and her wonderful boyfriend. Of course being a teenager April makes everything alot harder then it should be. Constantly at the beginning she complains about how she needs to call her boyfriend. Once realizing the trouble they are in she starts to settle down. Throughout the book April seems to become more and more mature. She begins to understand what kind of situation they are in. As the book goes on you learn more and more about how April and her family are dealing with thier situation. You also learn how they are dealing with thier new life-style. The family has to catch small flaws like calling Valerie (april's new name), April because of the man out to kill them. April has begun to blame her dad for all of this when it really isn't his fault. He had no clue what he was getting into, or that it would affect his family in this way. This book is a great story of a family's survival through hard times.
Rating: Summary: Don't Tell Anyone Anything! Review: A Review by Tiera In a family of four, George, Liz, Bram, and April live a normal life. But when their father goes to court for smuggling drugs, and almost gets shot. They all must go into hiding leaving the rest of their family, friends, and school behind. Soon someone finds them and tries to hurt them. So they decide to go into the witness protection program and start a new life somewhere safe. But it doesn't turn out the way they thought it would! I like how this book keeps you thinking, what is going to happen next. It leads up to the high point really clear and with tons of excitement, when the hit man finds out where the family is living. The author describes the characters actions and thoughts really well. Almost as if you could see and hear the person standing right in front of you. This book is very realistic, because while reading it I felt like I was actually in the story with them. The pace of this book is very steady, and it made me want to keep on reading it and not stop. I recommend this book to people who like a good mystery-horror with a lot of suspense. This book will easily be enjoyed by anyone.
Rating: Summary: Mysterious Family Review: This book is prefect for young adults. It is a real thriller. You wonder how you would feel if you had to start your whole life over and you lost all you've ever had. This book is about April, a teenager, who has a great life with family, a boy friend and friends. Her dad is working under cover for the FBI. A mob hitman, Mike Vamp is trying to kill him. She has to start her whole life over when her family enters the Federal Witness Security Program. I loved this book. When it was time to go my next class, I stopped at a suspenseful place. I didn't plan to either. It drove me insane. Lois Duncan is called the Master of suspense. I agree! This is the best thriller book I've ever read.
