Rating: Summary: Can Cheese Be Sweet? Well? Review: Now, as I've said before, V.C. Andrews books are cheesy. That's why I like them. The plots and dialogue are totally unrealistic, but then realism can get a little dull after a while. While you're busy wondering what's going to happen next, you can snicker at the sillier bits.
HOWEVER... This book stands out from the rest. Sure there's the usual conventions of the shocking family secrets, the love triangle, the scheming and/or uncaring relatives and the school bullies (the heroines always get bullied at school, don't they? maybe if they weren't so prudish...), but in places, the main romance storyline is quite sweet. Yes, that's right, you heard me. I said it was sweet. And I'm not easily won over by romance in a story, let me tell you.
No, I'm not talking about Logan- he's a useless whinger. I'm talking about a much better-developed character that Heaven falls in love with at some point in this book. Of course, this being a V.C. Andrews book (and what with them having to work Logan back in somehow), it all ends in tears. But for some reason, that just makes me like the story better.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: this book deserves 4.9999999 stars. :) Only FITA series will get 5 stars from me, but it's usually whatever series you start out with is your favorite, so I'm sure others will think I'm mental. ha ha this is my absolute favorite book in the Heaven series. I totally fell in love with Troy. I even married a guy that's very similar to him. Go figure. Heck, his name is even Trey. ha ha this book is awesome. Definitely start with the beginning of the series, and work your way through it. Your time will be well spent.
Rating: Summary: Change of family image Review: Heaven Casteel is an outstanding woman. She showed determination and persistence pay off if anybody is determined to accomplish a goal. It made me sad that the girls at Winterhaven made fun of her and ruined her nice clothes. I, too, had been made fun of at school. It was account of my receiving special services. Hence I belong to the Autism Society of America (ASA) to ensure nobody especially those with autism is pick on at school or anywhere else. For information about ASA call 1-800-3-AUTISM. Recently at an ASA conference, I met another VC Andrews fan.
