Rating: Summary: SEE YA STEPHEN KING Review: For several years I have been a Stephen King and Dean Koontz fan. However, recently I have become more interested in Mr. Koontz. This summer alone I have read The Bad Place, Dragon Tears, Icebound, Midnight, Strangers and Winter Moon. In addition, I've read Sole Survivor, Tick Tock and Watchers. While the plot of each was entirly different, I found it tremendously difficult to discontinue reading, once it began. I look forward to the future novels Dean Koontz will create and I will be one of the first in line to purchase them.
Rating: Summary: Predictable and overlong Review: This one was a disappointment. It was obvious early on what these people all had in common. And while I liked some of the characters, others I didn't, so I was sometimes annoyed to have to leave one character to flit across the country to another one. Oh well. Read Midnight instead.
Rating: Summary: Way too long. Don't waste your time reading this 681 flop. Review: I agree with Dave from Arlington, TX. I read at least 250-300 pages before the book started to make any sense. The cover claims that it is a "spellbinding story." Yeah, right. I plodded through to the foolish ending. Don't waste you time. Stephen King said that this was "...the best book he has written so far..." Then again, Stephen King wrote Tommyknockers. If you thought Tommyknockers was way too long and had a stupid ending wait until you read Strangers.
Rating: Summary: Very good reading. Couldn't put it down Review: This book was definetly one of his best. It had a very good ending, so different from his other stories. I have read almost all of his stories and other than his earlier works this was one of the best.
Rating: Summary: Classic Koontz Review: This is more of a mystery than a horror novel, though it does have its creepy moments. Very good, though. It would probably make a good movie.
Rating: Summary: Koontz at his absolute best Review: If you only read 1 D. Koontz, make this the one. I have read over 25 of his books (dissappointed in some and loved many others), and must admit this is him at his best (except for Watchers - a tough choice!). It's easy to rip a new one on Dean - I wish he did not feel compelled to put something out every year - why not be like Pink Floyd and do what ya want! So what if you have to wait 3 years - if it is a great book like this one, the wait be worth it. Bottom line - this book is just the best of this genre of writing, and the 700+ pages initially put me off, but I could have gone for more! Hope that DK puts out something of this caliber soon!
Rating: Summary: I love it, I love it, I love it! Review: OMG, this novel is great. At first, I was a little intimadated (sp) because of the 700+ page number. But, it goes so fast. I read 200+ pages a night so it didn't take that long. Mr. Koontz, has great an excellant plot, with characters, that you come yo care about, and root for! Amazing! My favorites were Jack and Ginger. Because they were both incredibly tough, people. I recommend this book to anyone. Read it. It is worth your time.
Rating: Summary: skillfully writen Review: As a person who reads alot of books, I found that this book is one of his best works yet. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I finished it in the same day that I started it
Rating: Summary: good Review: It was very short, but good, only 681pages
Rating: Summary: What a crappy ending! Review: I read this book for a report and I could've read a better book that was * a lot * shorter. I enjoyed it up the **awful** ending. Read another book with a ***good*** ending. Jeez!
