Summary: gripping at first but falls in fantasy toward the end
Review: i got this book at a used book store near the beach so i could read something while i was working on my tan. it turned out to be surprisingly interesting, taking in the fact that i really don't like stephen king. i couldn't put this book down, but around the part when rose adventures into the painting, i knew i was in for a big disappointment. but all in all, easy reading and a must if your liked "misery".

Summary: this review is from the point of veiw of a writer.
Review: This book was absolutly spellbinding, intrancing, and macabre. King went way over the top in excellence and gave his readers a book that they could eat for dinner. I couldn't put it down. I was fascinated at how the appearence of one solitary drop of blood could move a person into accelerated danger, and so very close to madness. Norman himself could have been the central figure of the novel and we still could have gotten the same effect. At many times in the story i felt as if i, myself, were in the painting-the labrynth. I give my praise to you again Stephen King, and I implore you to feed to me what i have been craving once again, with the delivery of another King masterpeice.

Summary: 3 Years later and still thinking of Rose Madder
Review: My friends, I read this novel when it came out and was completely stunned at what I read.. This is one of the few Stephen King books that will make you truly care about the character. Rose is a fighter. You want her to be ok and you feel sorry for her for being a victim. I just cant put into words how great this book is. I loved every minute of it and think it is definently worth checking out. ;o)

Summary: Will not let you eat, work,or rest til done.
Review: How can it be that there are so faucets to any one personality? Stephen king does it (again) with his book Rose Madder. It is an insightful look into the strange twisted world of domestic violence and is perhaps one the best reads I've had in a long time. The pace of the story is what drives the plot so well. It is similar to being trapped in a room with a wild animal: no rest until release comes in the closing of the tale. A very well thought out and well researched book. I'm afraid that Stephen King still has even more sides to his personality that we have yet to witness.

Summary: A REAL CHEER JERKER
Review: "Really Rosie" is a brilliant character. It may not be the usual King horror, but it is twice as good. This is a story of hope. I have never read a story and cheered as much as I did for Rose. It is better than Wally Lamb's She's Come Undone. Lots of books have been written about female charcters fighting to get control of what is their's...but Rosie does it the best.

Summary: Rose's growth throughtout the book kept me reading
Review: While I may be a little late in reading this book, "Rose Madder" kept me on the edge of my seat just wanting to know what was going to happen next. Mr. King's use of writing has always allowed me to use some imagination and, let me tell you, I pictured Rose's husband getting exactly what he deserved. It is a book that should be read by people in situations where they feel they can't get out of. Although hard at the beginning, Rose became the woman she had always had in her. Thank you Mr. King for making a book that I was glad to give one of my friends in the hope that she gets out of where she is and grows to be what she was meant to be all along.

Summary: Haunting and compelling
Review: My first King book and am I hooked ! It is a compelling tale about a battered woman who escapes from her cop husband. She finds a picture in a store which fascinates her, puts it up in her apartment....and her life changes.

The world beyond the picture is as real and as warped as a mirror image, there are a lot of similarities and it seems as though it is her own life standing on its head. Then her husband finds her and she has to return to this warped world to destroy him.

Its a story crafted to haunt, to linger. I personally feel this is one of his best books.

Summary: GREAT! Rosie stayed with me after I finished the book!!!
Review: not since GERALD'S GAME have I felt compelled to get in the pages and help the charactors. SK's development of Rosie is so indepth that I felt every high and low, every kidney punch and even the lonliness of the bus ride as if I were Rosie. One of King's best efforts-couldn't put it down!!!

Summary: Rose Madder is what a real woman longs to be.
Review: This book is the best King has ever created. There was such insight on a woman's feelings and a man's intense possesive nature towards his wife. It was horrific and ended the way a good novel should, with you missing the characters in the end.
