Rating: Summary: First & one of the best Review: This was the first King book I read about 10 years ago & in my opinion on e of the best. Charlie will break your heart..........one of the more emotional King books
Rating: Summary: Chair gripping suspense Review: I had to read Firestarter for a High School class. I chose Stephen King because the other books of his I have read have been very good. The plot of the book moved fast, always keeping me interested. It's called Firestarter because the little girl in the book, Charlie McGee, can start fires with her mind. That's trying to explain the main plot without ruining anything for anyone! Firestarter is an excellent book and I would reccomend it to anyone who enjoys suspense. Stephen King is a literary genious!
Rating: Summary: Thrilling, Review: I couldn't pout this book down. Stephan king is a mesmerizing author. 5 stars
Rating: Summary: The most under-rated of King's books. Review: I first read this when I was about 12 and have read it literally dozens of times since then. The plot is brilliantly planned and the characterisation is phenomenal. Firestarter is a very original book and I highly reccommend it to anyone, King fans or not. The film wasn't bad eithier.
Rating: Summary: Frightening.....yet thought provoking Review: Believe it or not, I had to read this one for school. I found it to be very interesting. The plot moved very fast and kept your attention all throughout. The detail is brilliantly described in the book. The movie is rather dissapointing after your mind develops all of these clear, imagnative pictures of what happened. I used to be turned off by King's work after reading "Misery." It brought me nightmares every night when I was younger! But, after reading this, I have a whole new perspective about Stephen King.
Rating: Summary: A fast and great read! An excellent book! Review: I have read this book thrice and I still find something new in it everytime. King is an expert on the way the human mind works (psychologically speaking). He seems to really know exactly how a person would react in the situations he's created, and that's what makes him such a terriffic author. My only beef (and I hope I'm not spoiling it for anyone) is that The McGees were VERY naive to think that America would except them into society after what Charlie did. If I knew someone with that kind of hellstorm power existed, I'd certainly want them locked away! I mean, Really!
Rating: Summary: A Very Hot Book!!! Review: Firestarter is a book that is really hot! It is not a horror, but instead a suspense thriller, that will have you begging for more! Charlie Mcgeee is a little girl with the power to start fires by her own will. Sometimes she can't control the fires. When she gets upset the heat starts to rise. A government agency called 'The Shop' wants to do test on her. Her father (who has a special gift of his own) and her are on the run. Will the Shop catch them? There is also a sinster bad guy who seems like an innocent man to the girl, but who really has a twisted plan for her. The book starts with a flame. He heats up more and more, then it simmers down for a bit, while little mind games are played, then later it heats up more and more, until she really gets mad! This is definetly a must read!
Rating: Summary: this is the best book in the world Review: this book is never boring, and always keeps you holding your breath. once you read it you will spend the rest of your life looking over your shoulder, hoping no one is following you, or that you won't get off the bus, come home and find someone dead. stephen king is without a doubt, a genius, no author can compare to him, and this book proves it.
Rating: Summary: A Flawless Masterpiece Review: From begining to end, Firestarter is a gripping, emotional, terrifying experience. King does an excellent job of making the reader feel sad for Andy and Charlie, and makes them all wish Vicky hadnt died, and that they could live a nomral life. Rainbird was evil, sinister, but also an object of pity. Excellent plot, excellent story, I only wish that I knew what happened to Charlie affter the unexpected ending.... What I wouldnt give for 100 more pages
Rating: Summary: Overall letter grade=C+ Review: This is King beating the paranormal world to death. I can imagine his mind working: "Well I've done the telekinesis thing(Carrie), the telepathy thing(The Shining), and the clairvoyant thing(The Dead Zone). What's left? Why pyrokinesis, of course!" Yeah, this is about a girl who can start fires and it really doesn't work. While in the previously named books, the psychic ability is there to enhance the telling of the tale, in this book it is the focus. The result is a weaker novel. It's not real bad, but it isn't that good either.
