Summary: Anne Rice's Best Book By Far!!!
Review: Being very interested in New Orleans history, I chose this book for the subject content. But after getting a sample of Ms. Rice's writing ability, I was absolutely hooked! I felt like I was actually IN New Orleans, and I could feel Marcel's and Marie's pain! Oh, if only Ms. Rice would write a sequel to this fabulous literary work of art! I would be first in line to buy it!!

Summary: I couldn't put it down
Review: I loved this book! The characters are so well developed, and the story is so intricate that this book just draws you in and doesn't let go. Her descriptions are amazing--New Orleans is practically a character of its own in this novel. Anne Rice is a brillant writer, and in The Feast of All Saints, she got it exactly right.

Summary: The best Anne Rice book ever!!!!
Review: I have read every Anne Rice book written, I love the vampires and the Mayfairs and find myself thinking about them, wondering what they are doing and when they will be back, BUT, this book set in the French Quarter is the best book I have ever written by Anne Rice or by anyone else for that matter! It just so happened that I went to New Orleans when I was about 100 pages into the book and found myself standing on the very streets she so vividly describes. I walked down Rue St. Anne looking for Marcell's home, I pictured the shops and streets as I finished this book and I strongly recommend reading it! If you love history, intrique and passion, this book is for you! I am only sorry that she has chosen not to write a sequel, but Showtime has bought the rights for a mini-series! Thank you once again Anne Rice for such a wonderful reminder of our past!

Summary: Her Best
Review: The first Rice books I read were those of the witches series. I had been so impressed that I looked for others written by her. So far I have read about 10 of her novels. Feast of All Saints.....what can I say? WOW By far this is the best of everything I've read so far. Her historical accuracy combined with her mezmerizing storytelling blew my mind. Bravo Anne!

Summary: My all-time favorite novel!
Review: Anne Rice has managed to write the best, most historically correct piece of historical fiction about the free people of color of Ante-Bellum New orleans that I have ever read. This coming of age story about a young man coming to terms with himself, his culture, and the world in which he lives is at times both beautiful and disturbing. Anne Rice has atrue understanding of these people and this period of New Orleans history which indicates hours of research. The characters truly come alive and the story is heartbreakingly real. You'll love it! You have to read it!

Summary: JUST AS GOOD AS THE VAMPIRE BOOKS!!!!
Review: I picked up this book a month ago after I finished reading all of the vampire and witches books and I'm glad I did! As a history major, I love Anne Rice's books because they are acurate in their historical detail and I always feel like I've gone back in time. I love this book in particular because no one ever writes about that part of American history. I loved it and really recommend it!

Summary: A Must Read for Anyone Interested in Creole Culture
Review: In this book Anne Rice manages to couple a wonerful storyline with a rich dose of historical data. She is not an imitator that helps to carry on the negative stereotypes about Southern Lousiana. Mrs. Rice has definitely done her homework on this subject and this shines through in her rich desriptive detail.. She was able to convey the attitudes, beliefs, and feeeling felt by this unique group of people to her readers. My experience with all the Anne Rice books that I have ever read were wonderful, but this particualr book stands head and shoulders above the rest. I would also like to know "where's the sequel?"

Summary: Difficult to stop reading until the very last word
Review: Informative book. Wondered what the significance of the title is in relation to the story.

Summary: A neglected piece of history that deserves to be known
Review: Like several of the previous reviewers, I too have read this book at least three times since it's publication and am fascinated by the free people of color. This was indeed an eye-opener and though I found it hard to swallow the fact that blacks were enslavers themselves, this novel helped me put it all in perspective. I know many people of creole descent, but very little was ever discussed regarding their heritage other than speaking of family members that they know that have passed for white and assimilated into the white race. It could be many of them especially the younger ones know very little of their history and the part they played in literature, the arts, and craftsmanship. When I was asked to name my favorite all-time book, Feast of All Saints was at the top of the list.

Summary: Where's the sequel??
Review: I'm a huge Lestat & Rowan (Mayfair Witches) fan and just picked this one up to pass the time...WOW was I impressed. The history and the way Ms. Rice paints the picture left me wanting more. I would recommend this book to everyone.
