Summary: Awesome book from a non reader
Review: A freind recently gave me the book "Fear nothing" and told me that I had to read it and that it was awesome. I told her I dont have time to read books. It sat on the book shelf for about a month then one night I picked it up and started reading it. The beginning was a little slow but I eventually got to a point where I got sucked into it.. I found myself not wanting to put the book down the suspense was killer.. I would have to force myself to put the book down so I could go to sleep.. I was not a reader now I want to get the next book and start in.. Dean Koontz is a very good writer!

Summary: This book has great characters.
Review: I loved the characters in this book. I also liked "Seize the Night" which is the sequel to this novel but "Fear Nothing" is the better of the two books. There is suppose to be a (final?) sequel to this series but I haven't heard anything about it. If you haven't bought either of these two books you may want to wait until he publishes his conclusion or you will be waiting like the rest of us.

Summary: Enjoyable Read
Review: If you like Stephen King and Robert McCammon or just like horror books you will like this book. Just be forwarned that you cannot read too many of Dean Koontz's books in a row or you will become bored. All Koontz's books seem to follow a pattern; A guy ,a dog, a best friend, sometimes a girl and something very creepy. I have not read any of Dean Koontz's novels in many years so I found this book refreshing and I also like the first person format that he used. I found this to be a very fast read. I am looking forward to reading this books sequel, SEIZE THE NIGHT.

Summary: Not really bad... but not really good either
Review: This book should be mentioned in the dictionary as one of the definitions of the word "average." I cannot really say it is bad, but it is not good either. It stands right in the middle. On the plus side, it is generally well written; even if it is pretty violent it doesn't wallow in gore, and it is subtler than what we've been led to expect in this kind of genre. Chris Snow is a likeable character, and I felt that his plight (as a consequence of a genetic disease, he has no defence against UV rays and therefore, he cannot tolerate daylight or any source of strong light, so he can only go outside by night) was pretty well handled. Chris is a happy person but the author does not fail to let us feel the undercurrent of loss that is a natural consequence of his handicap. There are no slipups either; Chris is consistently disabled (I once read a novel about a colorblind person, and the author kept on having her describing "golden sunsets" and such things).Then there is the minus side: the plot never gels completely; it fails to grab your interest when at its best, and it can get pretty ridiculous when at its worst. Things get particularly fluffy towards the end, as if the author himself had lost interest or maybe because he was already thinking of the sequel. Most of the characters are too good, sweet, generous and good looking to be true. Otherwise, they are homicidal maniacs. I found Sacha particularly one-dimensional; the woman does not seem to have a single defect! In this context, the Father Tom and the Hispanic cop are the most intriguing characters, because they are not completely good or bad. Unfortunately, we don't get to know much about them, especially the priest. In short, not terrible, but rather unsatisfactory.

Review: To give this book anything less than 5 stars should be the eighth deadly sin. This book was great the story line was fantastic and the characters were more real than any ive come across.

Summary: Brilliant!!!!
Review: This was the first Koontz book I read and I could not put it down. The characters were brilliant and I particularly liked Orson, the dog, and the main character Snow. This story is very, very original and filled with plots, intrigue and secrets, all hidden in the quiet town of Moonlight Bay. Well done Koontz, you've outdone yourself!

Summary: Surprised at negative reviews
Review: Although Dean Koontz is my all-time favorite author, I've never bothered to write a review, even after raving about him to my friends. I felt I had to write this after reading a couple of "disappointed" reviews. I came here to find out if Koontz had yet written a third in this series, as this and Seize the Night are among my absolute favorites of his... and I've read ALL of his books. Snow is a charming, strange, fascinating character - and yes a hero, which is what I like most about Koontz' books. Although most have horror storylines, they all are really about the hope we can find in the most dismal and challenging situations - and this book is no exception. It lifted me up and I couldn't put it down. My advice is to buy it! You'll get a great all-night, can't-stop read.

Summary: Sorry to say, it was quite a dissapointment.
Review: Dean Koontz has always been one of my favoirte suspense authours, and I never thought the day would come when I read a bad book by him. Books like Watchers and Lightning will leave a mark on literature for years to come, but I dont know about this one. The book reminded me of Watchers a lot in some parts, in fact the books in some ways are realeted. Koontz fans will be greatly dissapointed after reading this book. I was at the book store one day planning to buy some books. I was not planning on getting Fear Nothing, but I got it anyway because I had heard some good things about it. And one of the critic reviews said that it was Koontz's best! Were we reading the same book?? I cannot belive that some people actually said that this book was better than Watchers and Intensity! I truely belive that I got a defected version or something, because this book was very, very bad. Yes it was suspensful, it was not boring, no Dean Koontz Books are, but the story was like a recycled version of watchers and the plot was very.....dumb! This is the only bad Dean Koontz book I have read, and I hope I dont read any more bad ones. If you want classic koontz, read From The Corner Of His Eye, Intensity or Watchers. The book starts out with a man named Christopher Snow that has a disability that makes him very sensitive to the light, when goes out he must wear a lot of clothes to cover him so that he is not exposed to the light, he has special sunglasses to protect his eys, and he has a dog named Orson. Christopher snows father is in the hospital suffering illnesses and he gets a phone call from a nurse that says that his fathers hours are limited, and that he should go see him immedeatly. He calls his girl-freind who works for the radio company to come and give him a ride to the hospital because he does not have a car. When he gets to the hospital his father says something like, remember Christopher, Fear Nothing. When his father dies he leaves the hospital and witnesses some strange things while outside of the hospital. When he gets back home he sees that there is a message from the nurse at the hospital, the message says that he must come to her house immedeatly. He goes over there and She tells him about a mutant monkey that escaped from a lab, and she says the world is over and she repeats it, the world is over. She goes to get a picture album or something to show him but while she is getting it, she is killed and Christopher never finds out why the world is over. He later finds out that the world is being taken over my mutant monkeys that escaped from a lab, sound a tad familiar koontz fans? Well, I wont tell you more in case you want to read the book, but I reccomend that you dont.

Summary: Above Average
Review: This was the second Dean Koontz novel I have read - "False Memory," being the first. While I found the book compelling, it was almost too "fantasy-like," all the way down to the characters. Chistopher Snow was almost too much of a hero. Nevertheless I found it to be excellent vacation-reading - when you just want to relax and escape. Koontz is an engaging author and I am eager to read some of his other works.

Review: This book was extremely boring. Usually the first few pages of Dean Koontz books catch my attention, however....I thought this one just had a slow start and might pick up. Never Happened!! It was boring from begining to end!!
