Rating: Summary: very well written, but the ending was stupid Review: I really liked this book until the lastt couple of chapters where everything just kind of got preachy, stupid, and I actually felt embarrased reading the stuff. Overall the style is exceptional. I like the endless discriptions. Don't Know why really. They did get a little long and drawn out.
Rating: Summary: Awesome as usual! Read it in 2 sittings! Review: Classic Dean Koontz suspense filled storyline. One of his best yet, you must read this one and then read Seize The Night! These are both must reads!
Rating: Summary: Perfect winter afternoon read Review: This novel is perfect for spending a snowy afternoon reading. It has enough action and drama to keep you turning the pages. Just don't think about it too much during and after the read--and DO NOT try and explain it out loud. If you do you will realize just how ridiculously retarded the plot is, and how it actually would be better suited to a Saturday morning children's show rather than a bookshelf in the "Thriller" section.
Rating: Summary: KOONTZ'S BEST SO FAR Review: What impresses me most about Koontz's work is his rich development of charactors. I've always enjoyed his ability to make otherwise mundane situations and settings eeirie and suspenseful. In "Fear Nothing", Koontz creates an eeirie world out of what on the surface is a sleepy burg. Looking at the town, and the world at large through the eyes of the unusually afflicted Chris Snow, who can only move about in almost total darkness enhanced the plot dramatically. Evil government black programs, interesting charactors, police conspiracies: nothing is what it appears to be in Moonlight Bay. I enjoyed this book so much that I slowed my reading down so as not to finish too fast. I just didn't want to say goodbye to the charactors. I cna't wait to read the sequel. If you are a Koontz fan read this book. It is Koontz at his best.
Rating: Summary: Trucking Through.... Review: Being an avid reader of as many of Koontz's books as I can get my hands on, I have to say that this is very slow material to truck through..I am used to being on the edge of my chair, and waking up with bloodshot eyes because I cant put his books down until the wee hours. This book was a major disappointment, but not enough to keep me from pressing on with his collection..Love Ya Dean!
Rating: Summary: Very good Review: This was an interesting change for Koontz. The gene splicing idea is very 90's. The characters were fun to follow especially Orson. I enjoy Koontz because you never know what to expect.
Rating: Summary: Another great book from this west coast author! Review: Fear Nothing will keep you intigued till the very last page! The possibilities of these events happening without an entire city knowing is fascinating and believable. This is the second Dean Koontz book I have read and I find his choice of vocabulary refreshing.
Rating: Summary: Overcome by attention to detail Review: I have always been a fan of Koontz, rating him above any others in this field even when he seemed to have hit the 'forget the story, churn them out at any cost stage' but my loyalty is now being severly tested. Although the characters are believable and likeable, especially the pooch, the story is so long winded, with reams of unnecessary detail that is bad enough in the first telling but is really irksome when repeated ad nuseam, that I had to force myself to finish listening. Next time, instead of tapes I will save the money and buy the paperback. At least that way I can skip over the really BORING parts.
Rating: Summary: good, but could be better Review: This is a nice book, easy to read, some chapters are better than others, especialley when the suspense is built (Koontz is at his best in those scenes), but all in all, his other books are much better. Some of the ideas here appeared an his other books already, plus the plot is confusing and the ending is somewhat vague.
Rating: Summary: A book that finally scared me Review: I've been reading horror books for a long time and finally Koontz has made me afraid of the dark
