Rating: Summary: This Book Is Great Entertainment Review: One of my all time favorite Dean Koontz books. It's one of the best books I have ever read. It is not as scary as it is interesting, the plot falls short of a true ending, however "SEIZE THE NIGHT" continues the story so that makes it okay!
Rating: Summary: Great book that everyone should read!!! Review: This is one of Dean's best books. We need more writers like him. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I haven't found an author who writes better than Dean. If you ask me, I give this book a #1.
Rating: Summary: Full-on Awesome!!! Review: One of Koontz' best. His character insight (human or animal) and his humor is razor sharp. Great story with "way cool" characters. Full of horror and intense thrills, but not so way-out as some of his books. A definite must-read.
Rating: Summary: 3.5 Stars??? No Way!!!! Review: Koontz amoung other popular aurthors has fallen into the mode of more quanity and less quality. The main charectors where great but where's the story line? It never go's anywhere nore did it give me anything to FEAR!. Dean Koontz please go back to the quality work we all learned to love and be thrilled by.
Rating: Summary: Where's the fear?? Review: I read Dean Koontz to be frightened silly, which he's accomplished in the past pretty regularly. This book was a laugh -- it lacks a truly scary plot, action, and a satisfying closure. If it is just an installment in a series that will all revolve around this same evil, I think he's just writing books to make a buck and that I'll pass on the remaining books in the series. Too bad -- I've always enjoyed his work before.
Rating: Summary: I FEARED THAT IT WOULD NEVER END OR GET TO THE POINT Review: I have been a Dean Koontz fan for many years, looking forward to the next book. Fear Nothing is my 10th Dean Koontz book so I know how great his writing can be. Unfortunately, in this book, there is no point to the story or the characters. I have no problems with poetic license, understanding the psyche of the characters, or an in depth story, but 300 pages of scenery is excessive. The entire book could have been summed up better as a short story. If you are looking for prime Koontz, read Mr. Murder or Whispers both of which still make me shiver long after I put the books down.
Rating: Summary: NOT HIS BEST,BUT A SOLID,INTERESTING BOOK Review: A GOOD ON
Rating: Summary: Another hit Review: Dean is back with another hit and one to follow this one. I have recently become a Koontz fan and this is one of the best in his line of many. What is exciting is the upcoming "Seize the Night" to follow Chris Snow in his adventures. The typical CA life and addition of the dog was great too. For all you dog lovers out there. Get it today.
Rating: Summary: What are you people talking about? Review: I loved this book. Not only does it have a great storyline, but the characters are unforgettable. XP-stricken Chris Snow, radio-host Sasha Goodall, and the slacker-boardhead Bobby Halloway are all very interesting characters. I don't know what the nay-sayers are thinking, but I loved this book. The only gripe I have is the fact that the end leaves you unfulfilled, but considering that there's a sequel and a promise for a lot more books, I guess I can forgive Koontz THIS time.
Rating: Summary: The characters are awesome...way cool!!!!!! Review: I loved this book because I fell in love with the characters. Orson was too much at times, especially when Koontz tries to write dialog him. Communicating Orson's intelligence and sentience was more effective at the end of the book when Chris became Orson's voice. The book showed so much compassion and love, though. I recommend it highly to those who want to believe such things as friendship and love and loyalty are real. I didn't give the book 5 stars only because Koontz has succumbed to the temptation of "trying to write." He knows how to tell a story, and he can do it well, but portions of the book read like the product of a community writers' workshop, where clever people sit around and try to out-describe their world to each other. In parts, he seemed to be writing an assignment in an "advanced" creative writing workshop. In those parts of the book, it was painfully obvious why writers who want to be unique should stay away from writing workshops, and write from the heart.
