Summary: One of his best to date.
Review: The fourth book in the The Dark Tower series is by far the best yet. It was worth the wait. I was glued to the book from cover to cover.

Summary: Shoulda been a 10
Review: Tremendous story? You bet. Worth the wait? Probably (although the wait was awfully long). But due to what can only be described as sloppy editing, W&G gets a 7. The problem: Two of the bad guys, namely Depape and Reynolds, keep swapping hair color. When we first meet Reynolds, with Jonas, at the Rest, he is described as having red hair. Later, when Roland has his knife at Jonas' back, who has his gun on Alain, etc., Roland says to Reynolds, "You with the black hair, get you gun out of my friends ear," or words to that effect. Still, later, when Depape has been sent to check the "In-Worlders" back-trail, Roland asks Cuthbert if he has seen him. "Depape? The redhead?" replies Cuthbert. And then, when Reynolds goes to the cabin and captures Susan, he is described as the red-haired one with the cloak. Sure the world has moved on and all, but this is the first indication that hair jumping from head to head is a symptom. It's hard to blame Mr. King for this. The guy, as a rule, simply knows his characters too well. More likely, some editor or another tried to "fix" something and wound up doing quite the opposite. Shame.

Summary: Thirst-quenching !
Review: Now that I have received the latest of the Stephen King's Dark Tower series, I am slaked. Ever since I read Roland's first story, I was hooked. And now, with Wizard and Glass, readers finally get an insight on this mysterious man ! It is beautifully written and particularily heart-wrenching when Roland describes his only love, Susan. I guess he's not as cold as some may have made him out to me. Stephen King's the most honest writer about the things that are the closest to the human heart. Bravo !

Summary: What is wrong with you people?
Review: I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the biggest complaint most people have about this book "Too much plot" When people can't even bother to refer to a book by it's entire title (see DT4) then 700 or so pages must seem dauting indeed. If you want a comic book... then buy a comic book (stay away from the "Sandman" though... too much plot and gratuitous character development!!!). BUT if plot and superb characters are what you're looking for.. then "Wizard and Glass" is for you. Yes, I admit, I would like to "get where we're going", but what is the point of travelling with someone you don't know, care about or understand? This book fills in the spaces in Rolands' past and makes his future so much more compelling. I don't need to go into plot detail, it's been done ad nauseum... but this book will appeal to the hidden (and sometimes shameful) romantic in all of us...that is, if you can take time away from your television schedule to read it.

Summary: Its well worth the wait!
Review: This is a great addition to the Dark Tower series, well worth the long wait. I would recommend it to all readers of horror and fiction. Chalk another one up to the great writing skills of Stephen King!

Summary: Best of the four books in the series so far!
Review: After waiting much too long for the next installment of The Dark Tower series, King took the story for an interesting twist and made it the most satisfying of the series to date. Full of fantasy and mind bending allusion, as always, this book sets the stage for the three previous ones, explains much of what we needed to imagine before, and tackles a topic King is never comfortable with, love. He pulls it all off with grace and dignity, with wonderful use of language and prose that stimulates the imagination. It was hard to read this book and not understand how Roland had fallen in love with Susan. Hard even for the reader not to fall in love with her! (Is there any way for Roland to go back from the future and rescue her and his child to the present?) The other characters from the youth of Roland were vivid, although little was done to continue to develop the characters of the present time. This is a 700 page book that you can't put down. Although many of the other reviews complain about the length, after waiting so long King actually spent too little time on the current situation (advancing the story a mere 48 hours from where Volume 3 finished). Another 100 pages of the present would have been appreciated (I just didn't want the book to end!). It took too long for this installment, but the book is not a disappointment.

Summary: LONG time coming but well worth the wait!
Review: I anticipated the release of Wizards and Glass with the same excitement I used to feel the night before Christmas. Seeing the book for the first time, I was thrilled at it's size as I'm sure all Dark Tower enthusiasts were. I too had gone back and read The Wastelands just to reacquaint myself with Roland,Jake,Eddie,Suzannah and Oy. Anyone who found the latest Dark Tower installment too long or had a problem with the trip back to Roland's past simply misses the whole point of the story. This is not a race to the Dark Tower. This is a quest, a saga, an epic in storytelling which needs to be savored and experienced like a good meal or a fine wine. Sometimes you don't eat just to feel full, you eat to enjoy! Go with flow of this tale, don't count pages or compare it to the earlier books. King offers us a look back into why Roland is how he is and sometimes you do need to go back in order to go forward. I loved Wizards and Glass with as much passion as I loved the first three books and now begin the agoniz

Summary: You become a Prisoner
Review: The latest volume of "The Dark Tower" takes you into Roland's world as never before. It takes you into his past, telling the story of Susan, his first love. It takes you to his first encounter with the Good Man, and how Walter plays into the picture. Roland's old nemesis, Marten, reappears. An important relic, part of the Wizards's Rainbow, also appears. In this book you learn about Roland, his quest, and , in my opinion, yourself. The Tower is closer.

Summary: This book was great
Review: It may have taken him awhile, but this was the best by far. Finally, we devoted readers got some clue as to who Roland really is. I've loved Stephen's books since Christine, but I'm completely enthralled with The Dark Tower Series and can not wait until the next volume. This is most definitely a book you will hate to see come to an end.

Summary: King's best work since The Stand
Review: Stephen King has once again taken his throne in the literary world. I am fascinated by the way he ties in most of his books to the epic saga of The Gunslinger. His characters are timeless and ageless. To put it simply, he is the greatest author of our time. Can't wait for DT5. Thankee-sai Mr. King.
