Summary: couldn't put it down!!
Review: I have read all of King's books, and the Dark Tower series are my favorites. I read Wizard in one day and loved it. Then I had to read it again to pick up any details I had missed. If you liked the other three gunsliger books, you're sure to love this one.

Summary: Great Change
Review: I never thought it possible to get bored of the 3 travelers and their Billy Bumbler, but this book pulled it off. At first I was dissapointed at going off track and losing the original story, but I soon got into the young Roland and his freinds and didn't want to go back. A great glimps into the past on why Roland is the way he is. The ending, however, was very dissapointing. Other than that, a great 4th addition to the best series I've come across. -Tyler DeLisle

Summary: The only really good stuff King is writing these days.
Review: The Dark Tower series has been the one constant of quality in Stephen King's increasingly atrophic body of work. As the number of books he cranks out per year has gotten ridiculously high, they have been less and less worthy of having the name of the man who wrote 'The Dead Zone' and 'The Bachman Books' stamped on their covers. But through this decline, his focus with The Dark Tower has remained amazingly clear. So I wait for each installment with all the excitement I had when waiting for the next King masterpiece during the 1980's. 'Wizard and Glass' is a worthy addition to the cycle.

For those unfortunates not in the know, The Dark Tower books take place in a world parallel to ours, one that has "moved on". Technology as been left to rot, and society has reverted to a combination of Arthurian and American old west culture. In this world we follow Roland, a gunslinger charged with seeking out The Dark Tower, an apex of energy that holds all worlds together and seperate. The Tower is slowly degrading, allowing these different worlds to collide, and it's up to Roland to do something about it before everything collapses. In previous books, the gunslinger has pulled three people from our Earth to his land: Eddie, Susannah and Jake, all from different "whens". But 'Wizard and Glass' is less about Roland's current 'ka-tet' and more about an event in his past, a love story with disasterous consequences that takes up a full three-quarters of the novel. And a brilliantly told story it is. King weaves the full tapesty of his Mid-World with it's rich characters, traditions and language into an epic tale of Roland's first assignment as gunslinger.

So apart from the shaky start, resolving the rather silly Blaine the Monorail cliffhanger King made us wait seven years to see completed, 'Wizard and Glass' is another great installment in Roland's epic quest. If you are new to the series I wouldn't recommend starting here, however. Plume has reprinted the series, so start at the beginning with The Gunslinger. Then you can watch as King molds Roland's world into a fantastic realization of character and location.

Summary: The book that could have been
Review: once you get to know roland you really want to enter his sould and his deep eyes as they enter adulthood from the chains of childhood, however stephend king gives us his own twisted, sexually "charged" version of a super Roland boy that in the end sees that the world has indeed "moved on"by him, a nice try but a dry tale that lets you feeling like "what you did is legal and you had a right to do it, but it does not mean that it is nice"... Try it... or not... it makes no difference to me

Summary: One of the best books I have ever read.
Review: I have read all of Stephen King's works and I have to say this is one of his best. The in-depth characterization of Rowland and the intense romance is enough to make one come back for more. He is at his best in Wizard and Glass and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Summary: The best I have ever read so far.
Review: The Dark Tower series has been the first king books I have ever read. I picked up "The Drawing Of Three" having no idea what it was about. Shortly after starting, I was slightly turned off by the story and prepared to stop reading. But I quickly grew accustomed to the fantastic way he so poignantly illustrates every scene. After finishing, I plowed through The Wastelands as soon as I could get ahold of it. Not knowing if there was another in the series, I was somewhat "haunted" by the story for a short while, until I discovered that there was in fact a continuation of the series. I am now nearly through Wizard And Glass, and can hardly wait for the next in the series. It seems that this story has seeped into my very mind, and sometimes it will pop into my head when I am idly thinking. This is a fantastic book, and I'd be as bold as to claim that this series takes the title as the best I have ever read. Only King can make you accept the words "popkin" "sai" and the term "Thankee-sai" seem as common and legitimate as any words.

Summary: Captivating, I felt as if I were there with them.
Review: This is one book where I wished he would be MORE wordy like he was in IT. King transmits a feeling of being there with the characters and I continue to think of them as real people.

Summary: THIS BOOK IS AWESOME
Review: Hey whats up King. I haven't finished Wizard and Glass yet but so far I am impressed with the story. I haven't been able to find any of the other stories in the Dark Tower series. I heard about the series from a friend and started looking for them, but was unable to find the first three books. I have never been much of a reader but I love anything by Stephen King. Movies or books. The first movie I ever saw from Stephen King was "IT". After I saw that movie I was hooked on Stephen King. I live in Warsaw, Indiana. Not to far from Ft. Wayne. Once again I would just like say that I think King is awesome.

Summary: The Best of King's Dark Tower Series!
Review: A wonderful trip back into Roland's past. It put a depth into Roland's character that I felt was interesting, needed and filled in a lot of blanks. Also, the ending makes you want to get into the next Dark Tower book now! Ka rules.

Summary: He is a master of storytelling and this was no exception!!!
Review: I had long awaited this book and like all his others, it was very well written. His characters are so well defined we feel as though we know them, we feel their pain and share their experiences, this is what the imagination is all about!!!!!
