Rating: Summary: Enchanting Storm Review: Violent, unpredictable weather will destroy the Earth, says the Book of Shadows, unless the proper ritual is performed in time. The Charmed Ones learn that four elementals (people with the ability to control one of the four elements: Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire) must come together on the Night of Aeolus and read a chant. Naturally, a powerful demon has other plans. He sends his minions to steal the powers of the elementals so he alone will control the weather. When the minions go after Tyler, the firestarter encountered by the Halliwells in the fourth season episode Lost and Bound, he runs away and seeks refuge with the sisters. The Charmed ones have less than a day to find the three other elementals and convince them to perform the ritual, all the while protecting Tyler and themselves from minions who can use their powers against them. If they fail, all is lost...
This book is unusual because of its length (234 pages makes it the longest Charmed book yet) and its use of Darryl as a major character. Darryl is in charge of the investigation of Tyler's disappearance, and he must risk his career to keep him safe.
Overall, The Brewing Storm is a compelling read. The characterization of minor characters is well done, and the relationships between characters, particularly Piper and Tyler, are poignantly expressed. I strongly recommend it to any Charmed fan.
