Summary: Great Twist!
Review: This is the first Michael Prescott book I have read and I will be reading more! The "boogeyman" tagline is what hooked me to read this book and I really liked the double plot line. C.J. was terrorized as a child by "the boogeyman" although noone believes her. Jump ahead 16 years later and C.J. is a divorced, LAPD cop who becomes involved in the "hourglass killer" crimes that have gripped LA.

C.J. faces threats from several fronts while fighting her childhood demons left from her encounter with the boogeyman. This was a wonderful read and I guarantee you will have you looking at every room in your house in a different way!

Summary: Very Good
Review: This was good, but I would say in my opinion not as good as The Shadow Hunter. But not by much of a margin. Michael Prescott has a way with words that makes you feel as if you are right there in the middle of the action. He is the first author in a long time who has written a book where I found myself tensed and holding my breath as I read. He is a very good author and Last Breath is the third book I have read of his and will not be the last.

Summary: Do u believe in psychos?
Review: um, yeah, i found it really hard to first get into the book because i have tried to ride some other books that started out like this one (example-bait) and i lost interest in the first few pages...not with this one. i dropped it for like two weeks and then picked it up again for some odd reason but i have to say it was GREAT. i loved the plot soo much! and mind u, i am a nora roberts reader, so usually i dont like the straight out suspense without romance in it, but this one was like, whoa! whats happening? u dont ever want to put it down its THAT good. if u like james patterson (which i have also read but am not all that great of a fan of him) then READ this. it was sooo good. i think i already got my point across on that. well, its like theres these three stories and how they all combine and everything just leaves u like wow, and the way that everything then works out....its worth it, even for u peeps who think that books are a bore.

Summary: Overdone
Review: When C. J. Osborn was a little girl she prevented her own kidnapping. She fought the attacker and escaped from the clutches of 'The Boogeyman'. Twenty years later, she is working as a police officer who is always looking behind her shoulder waiting for 'The Boogeyman' to assault her again. This is the synopsis we get at the back of the book, however the story is completely different.

An ex-husband wants vengeance against the woman who divorced him. As he begins to plan he learns that his ex-wife is being targeted by a serial killer and decides to use this to his advantage. He studies the killer's methods and tries to emulate them when it comes time to kill her and therefore commit the perfect crime. The police will concentrate on the serial killer and ignore the ex-husband who already has an alibi. As it is with most of these novels it does not turn out that way thanks to the quick thinking of Officer Osborn and the police.

The serial killer story is what takes center stage in this book. 'The Boogeyman' is only important at the beginning and at the end. The plot of the story takes place in twenty-six hours that does not give enough time for character development. Mr. Prescott should have done the serial killer story exclusively, that story was good. C. J.'s boogeyman turned out to be something flat and I think he could have done something better had he written this novel knowing that there would be a sequel. Fans will be disappointed on the way things turned out in this book.
