Summary: very good
Review: While not as indepth as would be expected of Anne Rice, the story of Pandora was fascinating and well written. It would have been more interesting if she had included more of Pandora's life after becoming a vampire. There are quite a few years that are skipped and it left me feeling a little lost. But, Rice's story-telling ability has certainly not lagged and she can still keep the reader captivated.

Summary: Big disappointment from Rice.
Review: From one huge Anne Rice fan to another: this book was a real disappointment. Unquestionably lacks both the depth and characterization of previous vampire and Mayfair witches tales. A real bummer. This book should have been about 3 times as long with 3 times the story before ever being published.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: They're Back! But not as good as "...Body Thief"!
Review: I was so glad that Ms. Rice has decided to continue to write about the vampires. I really missed them. The book was a great beginning to a new series however, it lacked the excitement of "Tales of a Body Thief" or "Interview" for that matter. Nonetheless , I love Anne and I will continue to read the new chronicles. If this series is anything like the last, they will only get better for sure!

Summary: Great Addition to the Vampire Chronicles.
Review: After the somewhat depressing conclusion of 'Memnoch - the Devil' (IMHO the weakest of the Vampire Chronicles), I was glad that 'Pandora' had a more optimistic tone.

The descriptions of ancient Rome and Antioch were great.

I hope there will be more on Flavius in future Vampire books.

If Anne Rice had given us a little more of Marius' and Pandora's life together as vampires and the centuries after they broke up, I would have given 'Pandora' a 10-rating.

I hope the eagerly awaited 'The Vampire Armand' and 'Vittorio the Vampire' are as good as this one.

Summary: Not bad.
Review: This is really only my second taste of Anne Rice. I tried reading Interview at a younger age and found Rice's interior philisophical debates boring (I wanted blood-sucking action!). So when I needed a book for a long plane trip, I was very reluctant in picking up PANDORA. I was surprised although not blown away by any means. Rice is still given in to writitng away long philisophical debates, most of which have nothing to do with the characters. The book is too short and the last chapter was uneccessary! Over all it was an enjoyable read even though it's not really about vampires. I'd still suggest it to anyone.

Summary: Opening up "Pandora's box" to the world.
Review: Having just completed Pandora, after a 2 year hiatus from Anne Rice Novels (Queen of the Damn was boring) I decided to pick up a new book by anne rice. A vampire book mind you. I read The Vampire Lestat and fell in love with him. But reading Pandora showed me the whole other side of the spectrum. This novel is a masterpiece and has not been given its due in the readers reviews. I thought the book was marvelous(Being a Roman/Greek/Art History student I conected right away with everything Pandora described. I was also very impressed she interwoved philosophy in her arguments with her lover Marius. If anyone reads this I recomend this book to anyone who has been having a reading "blah" and needs a good book to freshen up yourself.

Summary: An improvement
Review: Much better this time. I was beginning to lose faith.

Summary: She's Back!
Review: Memnoch was an excercise in metaphysics. Violin was a book that was only published because the author had a mega-zillion dollar contract. Both disappointed.

In Pandora, however, Anne Rice goes back to her roots: telling a good story in tight, Hemmingway-like language. I could not put it down, and I am sure that others will feel the same way.

It was not her best work, but it was a very good read. If her recent debacles disappointed, pick this up. You will not regret it.

Summary: Where do you go wrong with Anne Rice? You don't!
Review: Anne Rice returns with yet another outstanding novel full of the enthralling imagery and beautiful, lush style that has characterized her work for as long as she has been writing. Pandora is such a divine character and her insights into her world, both past and present, are haunting and disturbingly acute. You just don't wrong with Anne Rice, or Pandora!

Summary: Too Short!!
Review: A quick book in reading,...I found it full of missing gaps,...tho' I could not put it down,.......Now I am waiting for Armand.
