Rating: Summary: Indulgent Review: I was disappointed by this one- it's pure self indulgence for the author and lacks the interest of the Lestat books- a comment I see echoed by some other reviewers. It jumps great tracts of history that would have made great backdrops to the story. On the positive side it has more pace than Memnoch.
Rating: Summary: Good! Explains many details left out in other books Review: The story was compelling, and explains much of how she got to be the vampire (and attitude) she is at "present" time. Only Complaint: What happend to the one legged Vampire?????
Rating: Summary: HER BEST EVER Review: I have read all the chronicles( the new tales to) from front to back twice and I would have to say, they all get 5-stars from me but "Pandora" tops them all! a reader FOREVER
Rating: Summary: ann rice fans satisfied by this book Review: the realism she adds to this book, not only makes the story more believable, but interesting as well. not one of her best, but recommended nonetheless. also read the vampire lestat, that one is a must read.read the vampire lestat, that one is a must read.
Rating: Summary: Just not up to scratch Review: As a keen reader of Rice's vampire novels, I waited in anticipitation for this one. However, the tale lacked the intense passion and action of the origional vamipre cronicles. Too much background completely obiliterated what could have been a great story. Which is not to say that what was written was not fascinating on one level, but it simply did not live up to the earlier novels achieved - to shed a whole new light on vampires and the passion contained within their lives. Perhaps only so much can be said?
Rating: Summary: Highly enjoyable and hard to put down Review: Yet another intelligent and suspenseful tale by Anne Rice. However, I felt there could have been some minor improvements in the ending.
Rating: Summary: Great read Review: I think this in my favorite vampire book of Rice's. And I didn't expect that in this stage of evolution of the Vampire series.
Rating: Summary: "Pandora" was a story of a love, rebirth and a twist of fate Review: "Pandora" was a tale of a woman who is no longer mortal who tells her life ...She takes us back to her still human childhood during the reign of Caesar Augustus. Still young she falls in love with lighthearted, gentleman by the name of Marius. She flees from Rome in danger not knowing she will reunite with Marius and find him to be Immortal. Pandora is the name she used when she was in hiding and kept she soon will become immortal and share a love destined to be with Marius for two centuries... I believe that Anne Rice has a very special gift to write such magnificent books and i cant wait to read the newest one "Vittorio" which i recently purchased. Thank you Anne ..your books truly touch me! Love Colleen C. (16)
Rating: Summary: A must read for any vampire fan! Review: I must admit i was never a book reader untill i heard of Pandora. I read the whole book in 2 days (i could not put it down, even at work i had to read the book). Now i can not put Anne rice's books down. If you read one book this year, read Pandora! The nice thing about the Pandora book; you do not need to read the vampire chronicals first. You can follow the book very easly. The book if full of roman history, which i very much liked. Enjoy the book :)
