Rating: Summary: Sci Fi meets Horror Review: Good book. A little too much description but still a riveting tale. Ending was a bit predictable. A must read for any DK fan.
Rating: Summary: Made my skin crawl! Review: This book kept me interested and at times fascinated. I have to give Koontz credit for having one incredible imagination and coming up with some very creative ideas, even if some of them really didn't tie into the story well. The dialogue is at times phony, and the man/woman relationships in the books seem cheesy, but this is still a heck of an entertaining book. It was my first crack at a Koontz book and good enough that I plan to go back for more.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: As a fan of Dean Koontz this book was very disappointing. There was way too much detail about unuseful information. The ending could of been better. I was all set up for an exciting ending, but all I could say after reading it was "that's it?" I felt it was a lot of jumbled words taking up space to fill the book. Koontz needed to just get to the point without all the mumbo jumbo. Sorry, but I was bored with this book.
Rating: Summary: Not too bad, but kind of slow... Review: This book had a lot of likable and interesting characters in it. It has a plot that is a good hook, and make you actually want to know how it turns out. Unfortunately, as with most Koontz books I've read, it's marred by the fact that the writer has problems relating characters that talk and act like normal people. Too much information about minor characters, and main characters that seem to be well thought out, but not executed well by the author. It's worth the price of the paperback though, if just for a nice light read.
Rating: Summary: Great Book- Real Story Review: The Bad place is a great book. It gives a spine chilling step by step account of a real event that happened in texas. Poppets way, the street in the book, really does exist. If you enjoy being on the edge of your seat, while knowing that everything you are reading really did happen then go ahead and enjoy. I know I did.
Rating: Summary: Eerie Review: Very good book. I was a little disappointed with the ending but I still recommend it.
Rating: Summary: One of the Master's best! Review: I've read nearly all of Koontz masterpieces, and have loved nearly all of them. This is one of my favorites! Probably his most chilling, and disturbing, with the most vivid characters and smashing climax. MUST READ!
Rating: Summary: A WILD RIDE! Review: There are so many positive things to say about "The Bad Place". It was thoroughly absorbing and suspenseful from beginning to end, never failing to entertain. As usual, Dean Koontz writes about the horrific and bizarre with an eloquent flair. I was really taken in by the character of Bobby. Everybody KNOWS a Bobby...and loves them! Some of the dialogue between Bobby and his wife was hilarious. (I can't remember ever laughing out loud while reading a Koontz novel until now) There is only one reason I didn't give "The Bad Place" a 5 star rating; I got the feeling that the last quarter of the story was rushed and possibly not as well thought out as the rest of the book. Even so, it was a great read and I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: captures the imagination in every way Review: This is a book thats needs to be on the big screen. The mystery and suspense plunges you into a mind whose imagination goes beyond the average writer. The characters are so different but yet connected by some strange passion. A must read book if you like your imagination to be led into a world of unmeasurable horror. An ending and origin that you'll never believe.
Rating: Summary: incredible ! Review: This is definitely my favorite Koontz novel. So much happens, so many genres are mixed: horror, thriller, SF. Typically Koontz, but the better side of him. It's a gripping tale that I would recommend to anybody...
