Summary: Suspenseful!
Review: Ive enjoyed The Witching Hour, and Lasher as well as every other of Anne Rices novels...theres nothing really bad to say about this book...it was everything i thought it would be!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: excellent!!!! anne rice is brilliant!
Review: I have read the witch chronicles completely and am on taltos for the 2nd time. Anne Rice is brilliant! Her one-of-a kind way of giving descriptions of things is very unique and exciting. It's like you are actually there secretly watching.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Dissapointing.
Review: Having read and enjoyed both 'The Witching Hour' and 'Lasher' I found 'Taltos' to be mediocre, at lease compared to the first 2 books of the series. Mr. Ash's character is incomplete and he seems to be placed there just to justify the need for a 3rd sequel. This makes the whole book boring and in general ruins the great atmosphere created in the first 2 books.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Thrilling and suspenseful!!!
Review: One of Rice's best books. Most of it held me in complete suspense, and it thrilled me to the bone!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great read, now where is the next one....hmmm?
Review: I have read the entire Mayfair Witches series. I found Taltos to be a fitting end. I especially enjoy the flashbacks that give insight and understanding of the characters. I felt like I was in the room with Michael and Mona and Rowan, like I was standing next to Julien. When it ended, I imagined the Taltos being found in a remote area, somewhere. Then I began to look at my friends to see if they had Taltos characteristics, and some of them did! Wishing there were a sequel......

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: The Book Makes Me Turn Away from All Anne Rice's Work.
Review: I could still sustain my interest when I was at the beginning of the book. However, as I moved on, the story got so boring and slow that I was merely pushing myself to turn the pages so as to get my money well consumed. In the chapter where Anne Rice's described Mr Ash's life back in the ancient times, I could not force myself into this ordeal anymore. It was so uninteresting and difficult to read that I skipped almost the whole chapter. Honestly, most of the time I just found myself eyeing word to word, line to line, without any real meaning registering to my head.

Although I finally finshed the book, it left such a bad memory that I would never dare to buy another Anne Rice's book. I am giving it a 2-star rating because I think I need to give credit to Anne Rice's effort in writing/compiling so many words, and her introducing modern witches to me.

I wish the story and her style could be crispier and more up-beat. Maybe the problem is me, especially English is not my mother language, and I am not the patient type. Sorry!

Summary: It's just aching for a sequel...
Review: I found _Taltos_ to be incredibly mediocre. The first two books in the Mayfair series were very detailed and proved a lot of insight into the family, Lasher, etc. This book seemed mostly worthles to me, and very predictable. While I enjoyed reading it because of Mona, Rowan, Michael, etc, I didn't enjoy the direction this book went. "Mr. Ash" was a lovable character, but not lovable enough to dedicate a whole book to. Mona's struggles were almost completely overlooked and seemed secondary. It also seemed like the ending of the book was written to make a very easy entry into a sequel ( just as _The Witching Hour_ was ). I'd buy the sequel, but if it had too much Taltos in it, I'd never get to the end.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: one of the best
Review: A compelling tale that never lets go of your imagination, Taltos is one of the best fantasy books around. It is a masterpiece created by Anne Rice, who to date, hasn't done any better than this. Although some of her books have been let downs (ie. cry to heaven) this one certainly isn't. A great book to re-read. It is a must have.

Summary: Can't believe I wasted my time!!!
Review: I enjoyed the first book of this series and praised it to all my friends. I liked _Lasher_ as well, but _Taltos_ is just plain bad. It is way too long and the dialog is inane sometimes. Only Anne Rice would write a paragraph to describe a color. Sometimes scenes were halting and seemed to be thrown in just to set up another, bigger scene. And the "I love you, but I hate you" idea was already old by page 100. I found I didn't care for the characters as I did in the other books. They were just *talked about*, not really explored as before. After reading 3/4 of it, I gave up, threw the book on the night stand and started reading _The Meaning of Quantum Theory_, by Jim Baggott. I found it much more interesting *and* exciting.
