Summary: This "book" doesn't feel like a book at all!
Review: As a thirteen year old, Bag of Bones is the first Stephten novel I actually took my time to read through, although I owned a couple of other books written by him. At first the novel seemed like an ordinary ghost, romance story, but as I read deeper and deeper into the story, I found out that the book revealed certain dirty things that's happening in our society, as to what they are, you have to read the book and find out. I must comment that the book drew me in completely, there were complex words in the novel which I did not understand but my imagination filled me in, the ending was rather sad, especially the part where Sara Tidwell or a.k.a Sarah Laughs was raped by a group of teens simply of her racial difference but she finally rested in peace and had her sweet revenge, everyone in the novel bascially got what they deserved. Overall, I faithfully recommend this book to anyone who wants yawnless (a word I made up) nights and long memories. P.S I also learned something very valuable from this book, thinking too hard or too much is bad!

Summary: Bag of Bones reminds me of William Faulkner
Review: Bag of Bones was a wonderful read. I enjoyed turning every page. I postponed all my appointments just to read this book. The way that he developed his characters reminds me of William Faulkner. Stephen King reigns.

Summary: The most compelling S. King novel EVER. Period.
Review: This is by far the most incredible S. King novel he has ever written, and it has gaven me the biggest chills and thrills in a long time! GREAT WRITING STEPHEN!

Summary: King's best since The Stand
Review: I heard a lot of crap about this book while it was in hardcover form so I waited for the paperback. I have never read a better book. I was entranced. It's one of those great books where everything is thrown out in the beginning and ties together at the end- like a Seinfeld episode. It'll make you laugh and cry and it has all the great Stephen King charm of terror and sex we've all grown to know and love.

Summary: A Drastic Disappointment
Review: I'm sorry to say this is not one of King's better novels, even though I stuck with it to the end. Here are the pros and cons of the novel. King's story is surprisingly original. I must say this is a new direction for him. The novel contains some interesting plot twists. I liked the "crossword puzzle" theme especially. Rogette Whitmore is a strong, frightening character, the kind you love to hate. And the final paragraphs prove to be an interesting conclusion to the story that surprisingly impressed me. BUT...that's not to say the novel has many drawbacks. The third-person narrative stinks--one minute Mike is a serious literary personality, quoting Maugam and Hardy, but the next he babbles on childishly about erections and breasts. Kyra and Mattie are annoyingly perfect. And, needless to say, the plot seems to drag on forever. BAG OF BONES is sadly a disappointment. It has its faults, but I guess it's good-natured and kind of innocent. It's truly a mixed bag.

Summary: A King love story, that's a switch
Review: My wife bought me two books from amazon.com, BAG OF BONES, and THE TRIUMPH AND THE GLORY, and I expected to have to wade through two chick books, but when I read them I quickly discovered they were exactly the kind of novels I enjoy, fast-paced, chilling at times, thought-provoking, and OK, each had some romance in them. OK, quite a bit of romance. But I have to hand it to her, she picked two winners. Read them, they were terrific.

Summary: Couldn't put it down!
Review: This was a great book. It filled you in on just enough information to make you need to keep reading to find out what exactly was going on, or going to happen. There were a few parts that were sad and hard to read but over all it was a good read.

Summary: One of my favorite King books.
Review: This is a wonderful book. The characters are just great. I haven't been able to put it down since I started it. Enjoy.

Summary: It was truly excellent!!!
Review: There is only one word to describe this book: CREEPY. This book creeped me out so much; I don't even know why. It was an excellent book and I loved it to death. It was just a little creepy, you know, with the ghosts and all the ironic things that happened, things that were right under Mike's nose and he didn't even realize it. I am going to reccommend (how the hell do you spell that word anyway?) this novel to just about every avid reader I know. I'm sure they'll love it. I got into it so much at the end, that I sat in one place for 3 hours and finished it. Sure I had serious cramps when I was done, but I was glad I had finished it. It was suspenseful and I wanted to get to the end. So buy this book; it's wonderful and you'll love it!!

(Btw, I wanted to wish Stephen King a speedy recovery! Hang in there, boy, you've got lots of people (friends, fans, and family) who want you to get well soon!)

Summary: Lack of focus
Review: Having read most of King's books, this is the worst of them. The story never takes off and lacks all of the things that make good storytelling good. His characters don't seem to make sense and behave unbelievably and unrealistically. Do yourself a favor and skip this one or check it out of the library if you must read it, but don't invest a dime buying it.
