Rating: Summary: Back In The Saddle with Stephen King Review: It's been over ten years since I read King, Bag of Bones brought me back. The first 75-100 pages were a bit slow, but once the plot idea and characters developed, I was hooked! I especially enjoy how King uses proper names in his discriptions, for example when Bill Dean came to visit Noonan, Dean's new Dodge Ram pick-up instantly painted a picture in my mind of the scene. King gave me a close look at what it's like being a best-selling author, and dealing with the world of publishing. While it took me about a month to finish reading the hardcover, I found myself thinking about the book all the time, looking forward to sitting down with it on nights and weekends. The characters came to life, Noonan, Mattie, Jo, Kyra, Max Devore all seemed to jump off the pages at me with clear descriptions of how I pictured them. The conclusion from chapter 25 until the end was stunning, I read it late at night,in a trance after my family had gone to bed. I was sorry when I read the last sentence. Excellent, yet different than other of King's past work, my Family and friends (and anyone else who will listen) all know Stephen King's newest "Hearts in Atlantis" is on my Christmas list!
Rating: Summary: Truly Wonderful! Review: I'm 13 years old and I don't really agree with that guy that said that this bood is for adults 18+. It matters whether your mature enough to read it. Well, anyways I loved Bag of Bones! It made me want to cry and horrified me at the same time! The characters are interesting and very well fleshed out. Many people say that the beginning is very boring but I completely disagree. I loved the beginning. The middle was good and the ending very good. I read the book in 5 days (hey, I'm not fast at reading!) I love the new King and the old King, but Bag of Bones tops all of his works! A must read.
Rating: Summary: Who knew King Had it it him? Review: If you think King only writes horror novels then I challenge you to read this book and then state the same thing. This book is a suspense-romance along the lines of a Mike Noonan(the book's narrator)work, with hints of horror thrown in just so you don't forget King is the book's author. Be prepared for the ending, however. King rarley let's his readers off easy, and this is no expception. This book is PERFECT
Rating: Summary: Brilliant! Review: Probably I wouldn't recommend this book for kids with no actual life experience. Coz if you are expecting goddam heart-killing horror then this is not the right book. Well, there are some terrible episodes. Also all the book has this ghostly atmosphere, but nothing more. It's very human, very real. Reading this book you start to realize that many of the situations you may apply to yourself. And yes, It's a sad one. Don't expect a very happy end. The culmination of the book is just unrepeatable. BUY and READ IT! Got what I mean? I said DO IT RIGHT NOW! What are you waiting for?
Rating: Summary: Acquire some life experience before you read this one! Review: Convoluted...the characters' family ties stretched my credibility threshold in places. As usual, the story starts out in the mainstream, "normal" mode, and Mr. King smoothly shifts it into "spooky." You have to suffer some significant losses to appreciate the realism of this story. Mr. King plucked some of my heart strings; made me laugh and cry. So many mysteries in life, and the beyond is just limited by our perception anyway, so who's to say what is "real" ~ being haunted can be an everyday experience. (I removed the magnets on my refrigerator door.) Take your time reading this yarn!
Rating: Summary: Okay novel Review: This is an okay novel to read. But you really nead to concetrate on what you are reading. This book had alot of good parts and sequences but I really want to know is, what happened to the master of horror Stephen King. Why is he in to drama? But when you are a wrighter, you should pick a genre and stay with it. Readers out there, if you want a heart touched story, get the book. But if you want horror classics, then look somewhere else. If you get it, find a quiet place.
Rating: Summary: Man so trapped in the death of his wife he can't go on. Review: When Mike Noonan loses his wife he doesn't know what to do. He is so upset he can't deal with everyday life. He begins to have dreams about his dead wife and their summer home called Sara Laughs. Him and his wife spent many summers there when she was alive. He begins to have nighmares about her and their summer shack, to over come his fear he decides to spend the 4th of July there. It is good at first until he starts to see things and hear children crying. After a couple of days of this he decides to go back home. He is unable to write again. If you want to hear about the rest then you need to read the book "Bag of Bones", by Stephen King.
Rating: Summary: The borest book i have ever read Review: It was one of the stupidest books i have ever read. I fell asleep so many times just looking at the book. Man I hate this book. I wish i had never even set my eyes on it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Reading! Review: A very different King novel. Not to say that it was so different that you didn't know who the author was. You knew to expect something or what was that something at Sara Laughs that drew Mike Noonan there and kept him. The ending is not what we expected but we won't give it away. So good that if you read it late at night maybe you will be looking around at what made that noise! Don't miss this read.
Rating: Summary: Bag of Bones: problem with disbelief and only for adults 18+ Review: My second Stephen King book. I liked Eyes of the Dragon a lot more. Bag of Bones is definitely for adults and can be very disgusting at times, especially toward the end. Worst of all, I found it difficult to suspend my disbelief at times, because the character simply doesn't behave as I would expect a normal person to. This happened a few times throughout the book. Otherwise, this was an ok book to read and sort of worth the time to read it.
