Summary: Douglas Adams meets the Vampire mythos
Review: Delivering a laugh a second, this book captures the allure of the vampire mythos while combining it with the humor of your favorite Douglas Adams absurdity... A thouroughly enjoyable read.

Summary: Strange yet wonderful!
Review: I've read other vampire books, such as "The Vampire Chronicles", by the famed Ann Rice and I can honestly say that "Bloodsucking Fiends" seems the most true to life. This book made me lust for more, I never wanted it to end! When I did finish reading, the words stayed with me. Bloodsucking Fiends is truly a must-read.

Summary: Emperor Norton's dogs save the day and the book!
Review: This is another boonie dog book review from Wolfie and Kansas. "Bloodsucking Fiends" is another funny, well-plotted ofbeat book by Christopher Moore, full of entertaining characters. The basic story is living boy meets undead girl, and subjects her to very weird bondage.

We admit to being a little tired of vampire books. Perhaps human writers should stop overdoing the vampire bit, and produce a few good books about what they call "werewolves". (We call them "werehumans".) "Bloodsucking Fiends" is saved from vampire triteness by Moore's humor and, from our perspective, the inclusion of dogs. The Van Helsing role in "Bloodsucking Fiends" is played by an Emperor Norton character, who leads an army consisting of a Boston terrier and a golden retriever.

Finally, we hope we have not offended Christopher Moore's fans by giving this book a 9 rather than 10. We tend to save our tens for recognized classics of world literature, like "Waiting for Godot" and "Island of the Sequined Love Nun".

Summary: Captivating
Review: I found this book to be captivating and I didn't want to put it down. It was handed to me by my best friend. And it has made it's way through our entire circle of friends and it has become one of our favorite books.

Summary: Is it humor, fantasy or horror??
Review: I am captivated by Moore. A friend lent this book to me and I loved it. Moore writes with a style that makes his outlandish characters real... who else could make you laugh at a vampire?? Great read... read it in one day!

Summary: Funniest book I have read this year-and last year also
Review: I bought this book on a flyer-never heard of the author, but the cover was interesting. I thought it would be a half-hearted attempt at a humorous vampire story. The book was great. It read quickly (too quickly) and I was sorry it was over. I have just bought Practicle Demonkepping which holds the same promise as this book and I have the confidence that it will live up to it.

Summary: Vampires funny? Read it and weep with laughter!
Review: After reading "Coyote Blue", I thought there might be a letdown with another Moore book. Could he possibly be as funny? Well, let me tell you, he's even funnier in this wonderful tale of vampires. His cast of characters, which include the Emperor, dogs in pie-tin helmets, the Animals (a gang of after hours stock boys), a naive young would-be writer from Indiana, snapping turtles, a gay cop-straight cop pair, and a couple of irreverent bronze-plating artists, make for a wild romp. My one problem is that only people who are familiar with Christopher Moore would contact this site. With all these 10's as reviews, how do we get others to become as in love with Moore as we are? Is there a rave review section (all l0's) that people can contact? If not, there should be. Enough! I must go to start reading "Island of the Sequined Love Nun." Is that a title, or what?

Summary: Moore's biting wit is neck to neck with the romance.
Review: Maybe you have never read a vampire story before. Maybe you did not realize the falling- down- laughing humor to be found there. Maybe you did not know the depth of a vampire's desire for a modern day romance, complete with all the complications of day to day living. Maybe you ought to read Bloodsucking Fiends.

Summary: Anne Rice eat your heart out!
Review: "Bloodsucking Fiends" is a delight from beginning to end. From bowling with turkeys to shoe eating turtles, this books is one laugh after another. Reading about Tommy trying to teach "Lestat" vampire rules to Jody was hysterical. Christopher Moore takes you from suspense to hilarity in a heartbeat. Jody and Tommy are beyond interesting and their love story is as sweet as it is funny. How do you describe a book that rushes from humor to suspense to romance? Perfect comes to mind!
