Summary: Absolutely fabulous
Review: By far, the best Stephen King I have read in years. This book makes me love the man who scares the hell out of me more and more. Excellent villain, characters that the reader can really care for. I can't say enough. If you have ever read anything by Mr. King or ever wanted to, please read DESPERATION.

Summary: DESPERATION
Review: This is the best book I've ever read. It's a mystery a drama and every thing else rolled into this book. My best part is is when Jonnie went into the cave to blow it up. I won't tell the whole story, especially to the people who have't read it yet. To sum it up you have to read this book.

Summary: Thank you, SK
Review: Only Stephen King writes novels this good. I would urge all would-be readers to read "Desperation" before reading "The Regulators." King takes his readers to a mining town you never wanted to visit in this thriller, that is twice the fun and fright because of it's "sister" book. I love how your mind works, Mr. King. Continue doing what you do so well.

Summary: Almost Everyone dies, how does it get any better than this?
Review: Wow! Great book. The body count was large, and I actually was squirming in my seat for most of this book. King did a great job with his charactors, selecting a cast that could have included you or me. The emotion at the end was tremendous, and you wondered what it would feel like to be one of the unfortunate survivors. I felt the charactors in this book were in a much worse hell than the charactors in The Stand (Although The Stand is better), and the ending turned out different than you would guess. The third quarter of Desperation left a little to be desired, but not much. I'm going to lend Desperation to friends, and read it again when I get it back. Good job, King.

Summary: Stephen King's "Desperation"
Review: "Desperation", is classic King. The book is an emotional rollercoaster with horror at every turn. Not only does King battle good over evil, but also puts a new perspective on your own spirituality, and beliefs. The battle has begun in "Desperation", figuritively and literally, with David and Johnny at the front lines. This book is definitely movie material.

Summary: a great book, great plot, surreal charicterization
Review: WOW! A marvelous book to read, but you might want to read it when you have a lot of time, because you won't put it down. Stephen King's plot structure brings a whole new light on what a book should be like. His surreal charicterization blew my mind. I highly reccomend this to anyone who likes VERY scary and suspenseful thrillers. But please, not a book for the kids. purr snickety

Summary: One of the best of Stephen King's works!
Review: This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Do not go to bed alone. You won't be able to sleep.

Summary: Edge of your seat thriller,a real page turner
Review: Stephen King has done it again! Enjoyed this book as much as all his others. Anticipated every page. Never wanted it to end. Characters were interesting and the idea of continuing charcter from past books really made me feel like I was right up there and knew my Stephen King.

Summary: ANOTHER BIG SCORE FOR KING!!
Review: FANS OF SF PARTICULAR BRAND OF BLOOD AND GORE WILL SQUIRM WITH DELIGHT AT WHAT AMOUNTS TO A RETURN OF THE SK WE ALL LOVE. KING INFUSES HIS INCISIVE GRASP ON HOW REAL PEOPLE SEE THE WORLD IN THIS NOVEL. THIS WRITER WHO POSSESSES THE FIRMEST GRASP ON CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN CULTURE AND DIALOGE HAS SCORED BIG YET AGAIN WITH THIS LATEST HORROR NOVEL. I LOVED THE BODY COUNT AND THE IMAGINATIVE WAYS IN WHICH THE CORPSES MOUNTED. BUT PERHAPS THE BEST THING ABOUT SF'S BRAND OF WRITING IS THE HUMOR HE INJECTS IN EVEN THE MOST HORRIFYING PREMISES. THIS BOOK HAS EVERYTHING THAT SF FANS HAVE COME TO EXPECT: 1) AVERAGE PEOPLE WITH REAL PROBLEMS THRUST INTO THE MOST HORRIFYING CIRCUMSTANCES, YET STILL FINDING THE INNER STRENGTH TO EMERGE HEROICALLY; 2) ENTERTAINING REFERENCES TO CONTEMPORARY POP CULTURE;3) REAL DIALOGUE INFUSED WITH THE BRAND OF MACABRE HUMOR THAT ONLY KING'S FANS CAN APPRECIATE;4) BLOOD, GUTS, AND GORE THAT WE ALL USED TO LOVE AND EXPECT FROM A KING NOVEL. MY ONLY NEGATIVE CRITICISM IS, SADLY, THE CLIMAX. THE NOVEL ENDED TOO ABRUPTLY AND STRAINED BELIEVEABILITY. ALL IN ALL THOUGH, A GREAT READ.

Summary: Couldn't finish this book...
Review: As a long time SK fan, I was disappointed by the premise that fans want to read about sick, twisted events before gaining any insight or emotional investment into the characters. I tried, and tried to get into this book, but just found it too depressing and sick to go on.
