Summary: scary and moving, with lots of creepy critters!
Review: Who can't love a book with scorpions and tarantulas and snakes? I especially loved the opening. It had me completely intrigued. This, if done the way I envisioned it while reading it, will make an enormously entertaining movie. It was very emotional and creepy, with great detail and three-dimensional characters. Much better than the Regulators, which I don't even care to finish.

Review: I have been a long-time King fan, but Desperation is incredibly disappointing. The end was an absolute joke. I couldn't wait to get this book over with.

Review: Blood. Gore. Death. I read this on Halloween and I wasn't scared, nor did I really care about the characters. I was kind of hoping for that kid to get his head bitten off by a coyote. The story would have been much nicer if it had been the odd sheriff vs. the innocent bystanders, instead of Tak vs. God. That's hardly a fair fight.

Review: This book starts out with a bang!! Most books it takes awhile to get interested in, not this one. From page one I was hooked. My favorite characters were David and Johnny. I just ordered the Regulators which is related to this one somehow and I can't wait to start it.Best book I've read in a long time. 4 stars.

Review: This book is the best one ever written by Stephen King - ever! That's my opinion. It includes great dialogue, trumendous action, suspense, this book is a thriller! The Regulators, the which-way sequel, is great, too. I give it an + 10! This book is good. I recommend "Desperation." 10+! 100% good!

Review: With "Desperation", King has returned to his throne as the ultimate ruler of horror. I had stopped reading Steven King .... Castle Rock and company had gotten stale and repetitive. However, King found his way back to his talent in the Southwest. It was creepy and tense; in a word, "TAK"!

Summary: Will The Real Stephen King Please Stand Up?
Review: For those of you who read DESPERATION and think, Hey, this is really good King!, wake up and smell the reality. This is about as good as his recent efforts like Insomnia, Rose Madder, and the sister book penned in Bacmach's very dead hand, The Regulators, average, but not awesome. Let us look back on the past like the comfort-sucking babies we are here in the 90's and see what we had way back when there was still a God and his name was Steve. 'Salems Lot, The Shining, The Stand, It! These are standouts. These are written law. Just read a little bit of Night Shift and tell me, with a straight face that Steve-O hasn't lost some of the edge? Anyway, DESPERATION, read it, it is King, and pretty much anything he writes has some small glimmer of brilliance. There are some good parts of this book, but the overall effect is like someone who took up a small course in The Asthetics Of Mining for one day, gathered as much b.s. info as possible on the subject, then threw up a horror nove around it. Steve, how could you? Just remember, read it, but don't go around saying ot thinking that this is prime King, you're kidding no one but yourself. END

Review: arrrghhh...i love horror stories but arrrghhh...this one was too predictable,and too too much of everything.There's a limit for everything you know?Stephen King may be the King of horror but..sorry..i couldn't finish this book...enough is ENOUGH!!!!

Review: This book had it all. A great plot, well developed characters, and the death and gore you would expect from King. The cop was a great character and so were the others, as King obviously took his time on this book. Along with The Regulators, a must read for any King fan.

Review: I haven't sat down and read a book in about fifteen years.And i have never read a King novel. Great Begining,middle,and end.....
