Summary: The Shining was a novel of the human mind
Review: I felt that the bokk The Shining was a complete overview of the human mind and it's influential state. Stephen King shows how the wants/needs of a human being can be easily influenced by anyone or anything. I recommend this book to anyone who feels the need to experience such literature value of the psychological state of mind.

Summary: OUTSTANDING!! THE SHINING DRAGS YOU RIGHT INTO THE OVERLOOK!
Review: Wow, this has got to be one of the best books I've ever read!! I'm only a 13 year old from Ontario, Canada, and this is the first Stephen King book I've ever read, but I can actually feel being dragged right into the Overlook hotel! It's OUTSTANDING, HOW DOES KING DO IT?!?!? I recommend this book to ANYONE who likes a great spook! Since that book was my very first Stephen King book, which I just finished reading today, I am looking forward to reading more of Stephen King's outstanding novels!! KING ROCKS!!!

Review: WOW! Such a good book! I saw the movie for the first time, loved it, and then I got the book. The book is very different from the movie, but it is really good. You just can't put the book down when you start! Before you know it, you're already far into the book!! For those who have seen the movie or not, and are pondering whether or not to get the book here at Amazon.com, BUY IT!!!

Summary: An fabulous array of imagination and emotion, but too long.
Review: This book, I have to say was very well written, I will give Stephen King credit for his unique ability to blend absurd storylines into believable, at times frighteningly believable, characters, plots, and emotion. King brings characters to life unlike any other author I've ever read. This book is a scary, compelling, and very exciting, the reader gets entranced into King's difinitive description of a man going insane in the eerie and evil environment of a resort hotel in Boulder, Colorado.

However this book was too lengthy. It took way to long to develope certain characters and storylines. Although King put enough wild and outrageous occurences in the book to keep me reading, it did take a while. The first half is wrather dull and slow and didn't keep my full attention, but then King slaps you in the face through the second half with insanity and heart-pounding terror.

I definetly recommend this book for Stephen King fans, it's one of his best novels. Also, if you want to get scared, this book will do it. It just takes a while to get really into it. But very entertaining, nonetheless.

Summary: The best King book ever! This book had an excellent ending!
Review: This is my all time favorite book. It is the best book I have ever read. This is the best book in exestence. The book was very intense and had excellent descriptive events. For example at the ending when Jack has a close encounter with the boiler(that was my favorite part). Also when Danny and Jack get aqainted with the long dead occupant of room 217. Stephen King is an excellent author and if you havn't read any of his books yet, read this one!!!!!! You won't be disappointed. READ THIS BOOK NOW!!!! RIGHT NOW!!!! Oh,and by the way, the book is way better then the movie.

Summary: It was very very interesting
Review: It was a good book but, it took a long time for it to get intersting. At the same time it was great at the begining. I get so interested in Stephen King's books. It is hard to put one of his books down once you start it. When you read this, or any other book of his you will feel the same way I do about his wrting. I garuntee it.

Summary: Exceptional
Review: A True Masterpiece. This book is a powerful combination of everything a true horror novel should be. It is written in a unique form that allows you to not only allows you to hear and see what the characters are doing and saying, but allows you to hear their inner conscience and soul feeding their minds with evil thoughts. Jack Torrance's inner struggle keeps you in a state of great anxiousness and apprehension and as the isolation of the hotel has its effect and starts to change him, you find that the more twisted and evil he becomes, the more pity you have for this mere shadow of a men, twisted by cruel fate.

An exceptional piece of fiction.

Summary: Come here and take your medicine you little cry baby!!!!!!!
Review: One of the best books I've ever read. Remember read the book before you see the movie, the one with the real Jack. Jack Nichalson really brought the charecter to life.

Summary: Read it!
Review: This is by far my favourite SK book (so far). Here in Scotland, we don't see winters as cruel as the one in those bleak Colorado mountains, but King's masterful prose brought home to me the complete sense of isolation encountered by the poor Torrance family. It is King at his very best. A gripping tale. Read it now!
