Summary: Lasher's a let-down
Review: After racing through The Witching Hour, I couldn't wait to read the sequel. The story of Lasher had great potential and started out well, but the ending was weak. Everything happened too fast. I finished the book feeling very empty; The Witching Hour was much more thought-provoking and occupied my mind for days afterward. If you enjoyed The Witching Hour, I don't recommend reading the sequel, it doesn't adequately finish the story. I can't believe there is a third book. What more is there to say?

Summary: reader from Brasil
Review: Well, everybody I know who had read this book told me it was great... i really liked it, that's wonderfull, but... comparing to Witching Hour, it is not this good... Lasher has a poor and ugly history, when i 'saw' him on Witchin Hour I really wanted to know his history, but when i got to know it, i got disappointed... I don't know, maybe i was expecting too much, but his history as a part of Mayfair Family is much better and exciting than his own (before the family)... May be after reading Taltos I can change my mind... who knows?

Summary: Wait! You have to finish!
Review: I was disapointed that someone reviewed this book that didn't even finish it! I was struggling through the middle but raced through the end, which kept me hanging on. I definatly recomend this book, it was a wonderful follow-up to The Witching Hour. Rice is a sequel queen (just look at Lestat compared to Interview). I love her sensual writting and am recomending this book to everyone I know. I do think Witching hour should be read first, just so you get the back-ground. Also, see the vampire chronicles for more Talamasaca info. After reading Lasher I wonder why they were interested in Vampires. Anybody have any ideas? Or should I just read Taltos?

Summary: One Of My Favourite Books
Review: I don't know how anyone could say that this book was a disappointment compared to "The Witching Hour". I read "Lasher" first and then the rest of the series and this one is still my favourite. I guess some people have a lack of imagination.

Summary: Lasher: Loving the Witches of Mayfair Sequels
Review: Everyone must know that this was not as good as witching hour, but still stood as being a excellent book in her sequels. We all love Anne Rice's book and it does not matter if it is weak or not as wonderful as the first. Read this book, becuase it ventures in to the realm of loving and hating and wondering all in one breath and the history is so detailed and precise. I love her books and I still give it 4 stars. But will Rate Witching hour with 5 stars, becuase it is so near and dear to my heart!

Summary: Considering previous novels; disappointing
Review: I have had the pleasure of reading the Vampire Chronicles, Cry to Heaven, and Sevant of the Bones. I feel Anne Rice is a wonderful writer with enthralling descriptive powers. To put it simply, Lasher was a disappointment. I didn't bother finishing the last 1/4 of the book.I would also have no problem using the word "drivel" in my description of this book. While Rice is an excellent writer, consider some of her other books for your choice of reading.

Summary: No where near as good as the Witching Hour
Review: Let me start by saying, that Anne Rice is a phenomenal writer, with a rich writing style that always puts you right on the page withthe characters. Having said that, let me say that Lasher was a disappointment, not because the writing style was not up to par, because it was. Rather...well, it felt like she had a contract to write a sequel and so she just made up something. I was disappointed in what Lasher turned out to be. It sort of took the spookiness out of the first one. I realize that not every book can be as good as The Witching Hour or The Vampire Lestat, but I'd like for it to feel as though the author thinks it is as good.

Summary: "Lasher" is psychospook; Rice lacks another bewitching hour!
Review: "Lasher" could just as well have been the tired hand of Salmaan Rushdie. It becomes overtly theatrical and etherial in a noisy way. However, "The Witching Hour" was potent yet delicate and downright bewitching not-so-fiction! I frightfully await the former Rice who hovered with spine-tingling complacency and ease...besting even Edgar Allen Poe!

Summary: Very disappointing
Review: I love "The Witching Hour" - I think it is one of my all time favourite books. "Lasher" is, to put it simply, dreadful. The writing is good, but the characters have lost their way and the story itself is thin and unsatisfying. If you liked "The Witching Hour", treasure it and don't be tempted further into the lives of the Mayfair Witches.

Summary: i cant believe some of these reviews!
Review: Hello! What is wrong with some of these reviewers? If you cannot recognize the amazing writing style of ann rice, then you are not worthy of even having her books! Lasher was an awesome follow up from the witching hour. If you have any sense of what a good read is, then you will be a fan of this book...and of the next one..taltos!
