Rating: Summary: The Most Amazing Series Ever Written! Review: I owned a copy of The Gunslinger for nearly four years before deciding to read it out of lack of anything better to read, and I found it to be terrific. I continued with the rest of the series, and I must say that I have read no finer work in my life. I also read the fourth installment, Wizard and Glass, and found that to be the best yet. i hope King lives long enough to complete the entire series, because I really want to find out if Roland, The Last Gunslinger--the best character ever--will make it to the all-powerful Dark Tower. I reccommend this to anyone that likes to read. It may not be worth the price for the special edition unless you are a collector such as I, but everyone should read this.
Rating: Summary: Mezmerizing! Review: This series of books is fantastic! I don't generally enjoy reading horror, so I was skeptic about reading this series. The first novel is a quick read, or I thought so, and I was anxious to start the second. The characters in the series become like family, and I found myself thinking about their well-being, when I wasn't actually reading! I even drempt about their journey's! This series is so much fun to read, when people ask me about it, the closest I can come to explaining is, it's like"~ reading your favorite soap opera. And that's an understatement, but its the closest analogy I can make. You really feel like they are related to you, and you find yourself worrying about their well being.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: I first learned of these books while reading King's Insomnia...and asked a friend about the "coincidence" that the back of the book adds refered to a dark tower and gunslinger and that the child at the end of the book draws his picture of them...of significance i know not. I read the first three in a rush...only stopping before book four due to school. But when 5 comes out...i am going to read 1-3 again...and then charge ahead again...I can not say enough good about these books!
Rating: Summary: As good as any story gets. Review: These books by Stephen King contain one of the most potent storylines ever(along with The Lord of the Rings). The characters are so well narrated that your imagination will have no trouble at all making them breathe, eat, walk, etc. And the plotline is so intricately detailed and original that it makes you beg for the next book(I know I have). If you like good stories, no matter what the Genre, buy these books. You will not regret it.
Rating: Summary: My obsession! Review: Ever since i started reading these books, i was obsessed. I read all 4 of them in 2 and a half weeks. They are simply wonderful. With vivid descriptions, and living, breathing characters that seem real. These are easily the best books i've ever read. But it's simply driving me crazy waiting for the 5th one to come out. In each book, you learn a little bit more about the dark tower. There are no boring parts, at least not for me. There was never a time when i wanted not to read any of the books in this series. This may sound dumb, but... these books are the things i think about most! It's true! I can relate to the characters so much, i just love it! If there's such thing as a "must-read" this series is most definetly it.
Rating: Summary: The Dark Tower Series Review: Most people would agree that Stephen King has mastered the horror genre but if this series is anything to go buy the likes of Robert Jordan and David Eddings had better watch their back. This is a truely orriginal fantasy series that grabs your attention from the very first sentence. Dark apocalyptic eerie and enchanting this storey will warp your mind and win your soul... brilliant.
Rating: Summary: The Dark Tower IV : WIZARD AND GLASS Review: This has to be one of Stephen King's greatest mixes of horror, fantasy, adventure and a touch of romance. He has made this book readable by the general public who are not totally into horror, and that is why i like it so much.
Rating: Summary: One of the Greatest Fanatasies in a long time... Review: This book brings out King's creative talents by combining many different worlds, time lines, and characters in a single story with amazing detail and flow of story. Not only is it a fantasy but a horror, mystery, and even a romance. Its worth the time and money to read this book trilogy and I hope it will be completed one day.
Rating: Summary: An avid reader of books. Review: I have been reading since I was in first grade, so it's nothing new to me when I get asked about my opinion on a book. Frankly, my mother never let me read Stephen King's works until I was 13. Ever since then, I have tried every book I could get my hands on. I have read all four of the Dark tower series... though not all from the same edition because the artwork was different. I find the stories intriguing and spellbinding. This is going to be an excellent series upon completion, not that it isn't now. I was surprised that the trademark horror aspect of his writing came out less, but it was still potent reading. The descriptions and details he puts into it are amazing and I would recommend this set of books for anyone who has doubted the power behind the man that is Stephen King.
Rating: Summary: Best Ever! Review: The Dark Tower series is the best story I have ever heard. It is by far more entertaining than any other activity I've ever been involved in. The only bad thing about it is that the next novel (part V) won't be here till 2001 (and that's a big assumption). Buy it, read it, read it again, etc....
