Summary: The best book available.
Review: This book, wchich combines the three novels the Gunslinger, the Drawing of the Three and the Wastelands, tells the story of a gunslinger, who lives in a world, that has turned. I think that these novels are, apart from Stephen Kings 'The Talisman', the best ones I've ever read. I think every Stephen King fan should have read these books

Summary: The man in black fled across the desert, . . . .
Review: This is how the on going saga of Roland, the last gunslinger, begins.

From the moment I first read this opening line, I knew that there was something special about this story. I was hooked deeper than I had thought was humanly possible. To date it is the only opening line to a book that I can quote from memory. As luck would have it, I finished the Drawing of the three (second book in the series) just as the Wastelands was being released. It was truely bliss to hit this one running. The result being that I was compelled to scorch my way through it in about 3 days. The dilema awaiting me was that I was personally left standing on the edge of the wastelands waiting for the story to continue. This was 4 years ago.

Three re-reads later, I am still captivated by the exquisite character development throughout the pages of this ongoing story.

All that remains of what is good is the last gunslinger. You, the constant reader, are taken captive into a world that parallels our own. It mirrors elements from the past as well as the future. A world where those who carry sandlewood pistols are the lord protecters of all that is right. A world with more twists and turns than anyone can imagine.

People complain that Stephen King is taking far too long to finish this EPIC work. The truth of the matter is that it has taken a lot longer for the story to unfold, than most people realize. It began for him many years ago when he was in University. He inherited a ream of green paper and the "Man in Black" burst forth across the desert in a story that is till being lived. The sheer majesty, life, and scope of the story suggest that King is less the author of this tale than he is it's recorder. He has admitted himself that he does not know where the travels of Roland and his ka-tet (party of three) will lead.

A work of this quality cannot be rushed. It cannot be controlled. It can only be lived. We must wait for the end and be patient in its coming. The DARK TOWER draws us nearer. But to what..?
Let's all hope that King is kept alive long enough to show us the way.

This is, WITHOUT A DOUBT, King's BEST WORK.
It is by definition an EPIC work.
The purest "MUST READ" in his stable of hits.

Summary: Very Different King
Review: This is definitly different than any of his other writing! This seems to be the achievement of his goal as a superstar author. This is what he has worked his entire life for, and he has achieved it and then some. One of the best stories I have ever read and can't wait to read more!

Summary: a real good fantasy serie
Review: This is really a good work in perfect King' style. Each bookcompletes the preceding one changing radically but softly the tone andthe spirit. Who could resist to Roland' secrets? Who could resist to the misterious meaning of the distant, but even present, tower? I really wait with trepidation.

Summary: Addictive, Comsuming and by far, thought provoking!
Review: As I pulled out of the truck stop in my 18-wheeler, I put thefirst tape of "The Wastelands" into the player. Having already readthe prequels, my interest was starving for... something!

As I ambled down the ramp, heading west out of Texas, the rain began in the dark of the night. Shifting my attention to the story, Stephen King's plot began to develop. Immediately, I found myself drawn in, becoming entranced with the characters. I could even sense the atmosphere of the events, the anxiety and emotions, even the uncertainty of my own expectations. Even the smell of the beast in the clearing was stifling!

Even though this episode was anti-climatic, Stephen King has maintained his theme, originality and the suspense that are kindred talents of his. The natural progression of his vision for Roland is what sets this novelist apart from the rest. I believe Stephen King values the content, over the climax, as this is clear by his apology to the reader at the end of book three. Evolution, as well as resolution, are the framework for this journey. Ronald\222s journey is a part of Stephen's creativity and imagination, more or less. At any rate, I as a reader will enjoy the richness given to me and feast exceedingly! When dessert is served... then I'll lean back and reflect on the next feast! Bon Appetite!!!

By far, Stephen King is a great novelist of this era. Perhaps, even one of the legends of all times.

Summary: The best series I have ever read, No joke!
Review: This is one of the best series I have ever read. I borrowed TheWaste Lands {pt. 3} from my library and I haven't returned it in 2years, unfortunatley I have a big bill to pay, but it is fully worth it, I am going to buy the Series, the 3 Paperback book set. It is all about a parallel world that is becoming seperated and both worlds might be destroyed if Roland{"The Gunslinger"}, Eddie, Jake, and Susannah. Oh and of course 'Charlie the Choo Choo'. It is a very interesting and mysterious book, I HIGHLY reccommend these books to anyone.
