Rating: Summary: Only one flaw.... Review: The series is some of the best reading I've ever done. But there is one flaw... There isn't enough of it. I've been waiting at least four years between each book... Oh well. I'll wait, it just means I have to read them all again everytime a new one comes out. I just hope Stephen King doesn't stop the series!
Rating: Summary: Completly different then any other story. I'ts perfect. Review: It's an incredible , and inspiring story. I only hope that the ending is worthy to what is without a doubt the most brilliant idea that Mr. King has shared with the "Constant Reader" , so far. It is a story that really makes you consider all the possabilities that our universe may have to offer. If you read it , you will love it.
Rating: Summary: COMPELLING - EACH BOOK LEAVES YOU WANTING MORE! Review: I am an avid reader of Steven King. This series is like no other King. I finished all four series of the dark tower in a month and a half and that's only because I had to work and sleep. The characters are all very different and from different times but yet they are all from one - ka tet. This series leaves you wanting more. You get so engrossed that I now need to find the black tower with them. I can't wait until the next book is out. Roland of Gilead the Gunslinger is the strong slient type, Susannah/Detta/Odetta is wheelchair bound but not a pushover, Eddie is a former junkie who falls in love with Susannah, and Jake is the little boy Roland sacrificed once but never again, and Oy the bumbler is a terrific addition to this ka-tet. This series is to say the least compelling, a page turner, spell binding, very hard to put down! I love this series!
Rating: Summary: anyone who gives lower than a 10 obviously did not read them Review: These books are the effigy of all that literature to date has to offer. The story thus far is over 3000 pages (hardback) and it is not completed. The imagination and mental capacity to effectively tie these books in with the rest of the king universe (for those who do not know read insomnia, the stand, and eyes of the dragon) is mind boggling. This epic should be a mandatory high shool and college course. It should also be a reqirment to have read this series in order to get a job other than straight out manual labor.
Rating: Summary: The King does it again...... Review: Stephen King is the best storyteller I have ever read. All I hope is that he continues to write, and that someday I may write only 10 % as good as he can.
Rating: Summary: Not Like other Staphen King! Review: If you are a long time fan of Stephen King the Horror writer and have not read any of the Dark Tower series be prepared for a change. This series is more a sci-fi fantasy story. Oh there is blood and gore and death in it but it is not his usual brand of horror. Roland will remind of Sir Lancalot in King Arthurs court (King Arthur gets mentioned in here but not by the name we know him as) but when he gets into a gunbattle (which is frequently) he reminds you of Mac Bolin in the Executioner series. If you can accept and get past the writing style change I think if you are a Stephen King or fantasy fan you will like this. Kool Lynx
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly good... Fantasy and adventure instead of horror Review: This is Stephen King's absolute best series of novels. I think that this is really what he was meant for, instead of that horror genre that his publishers seem to favor. I have heard rumors of a fourth book that is out. If anyone could email me regarding it...?
Rating: Summary: The Dark Tower Series is King's Finest Work Review: I LOVED THE ENTIRE DARK TOWER SERIES, ESPECIALLY WIZARD AND GLASS.
Rating: Summary: Detailed, insightful, wonderful reading Review: As an avid Stephen King fan, I thought that this series showcases some of his most insightful and detailed work. For those who are used to King's horror, murder, and macabre sadistical writings, the series may shock you in its different content, but will soon draw you into the oddities and wonders of Roland the gunslinger's "mid-world." The first in the series focuses on Roland's search and his mission, setting the stage for his drawing of the three in the next volume. This book lends just enough of a look into the background of Roland's childhood to make you identify with him, and his seemingly hopeless quest. The second volume "The Drawing of the Three" tells a well woven tale of "ka" and how Roland and his three become, and survive, pulling themselves together into their fated "ka-tet" of, eventually, five. The third book (which comes in the boxed volume) entitled "The Wastelands" is the first in the series that stops really setting the scene of the books, but actually gets more into the heart of what is to be, and what is to come for the quartet of "gunslingers" which each in their own rite has now become. DO NOT read this book unless you have in your posession the fourth, "Wizard and Glass" as the ending of the third is greatly unsatisfying, leaving the fate of the characters hanging in the balance, left up to the harsh peculiarities of a mono-rail named Blaine. As I am now on the fourth book, I cannot give review as of yet except to say that it is promising to be as great as the first three.
Rating: Summary: THE DARK TOWER Review: In world which has moved on and Roload of Gilead finally catches up with the man in black which he was chasing for a long time almost more than 12 years , he's not one of those MEN IN BLACK (the galaxy definders) NO he is a thousands years old, lived since the great old ones. They weren't gods but they had almost the knowledge of god which leads to THE DARK TOWER With the Ka-tet: eddie(the prisoner),susannah(the of the shadow),jake(the boy)and OY (the bumbler) THE LAST GUSLINGER followed the path of beam to THE DARK TOWER through the town towards Lud to find Tick-Tock Man and Blaine the pain(Charlie the choo-choo) which took them through THE WASTE LANDS follwing the path of beam to THE DARK TOWER,pursued by the figure walter that called the WIZARD. Well it s not like one of those King's horror storys,It's too scary imagine how's the world which roland THE GUNSLINGER came from has MOVED ON. Once u start reading you'd never want it to finish,it's like having a warm shower in a long cold winter. If u did't read so u do miss alot,so buy it NOW.
