Rating: Summary: Some of King's best work Review: I have read the whole series twice. All four books are just as good the second time as the first. Great stories, well defined characters, to put it plainly - Stephen King. But Mr. King, where is number 5?
Rating: Summary: Good enough to give you a king fix Review: The books are fun to read. The story line meanders around a lot, but we are taling about steven king.
Rating: Summary: With King, words come to life. Review: What I enjoy most about the quest for the Dark Tower is the uncanny way the book comes to life all around you. Reading it is as if you have a front-row seat in a 3-d movie. Stephen King has a way of drawing on your powers of imagination like no one else can. If you don't believe this, go read 'It'(but read it in a well lit room). All I can say is that I check the web every day to see if part 5 is out.
Rating: Summary: Addicting! Review: I have listened to all 4 Dark Tower books on audio tape and when I heard Mr. King say at the end of one of them that this story may never be finished, I swear I felt panic! Roland, Eddie, Suzanna and Jake have become part of me! Don't miss this wonderful tale of a lifetime!
Rating: Summary: WOW!!!!!! Review: I love these books. I devoured the 3 books as soon as I got them. My biggest problem with the whole thing is Mr. Kings obvious procrastination in working the other books. I am chomping at the bits to see where his mind will take the story, but I hate the wait. Please get cracking!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Incredible, gripping novel. Review: This novel contains some of the best character development by King, and contains one of the most fascinating characters of modern literature, namely, Roland. Although Roland's past is presently not completely developed, the character is passionate, dark, intelligent, among other things. King has finally managed to mix the past with the present action in this book. One never feels yanked back and forth between flashbacks like you can in some of King's other works. My only regret is that there are only a few more books left in the series.
Rating: Summary: long and too elongated although the paintings are interestin Review: Kings books are often long and verbose as if he is getting paid by the word. Different type of story lends itself to excitement but just goes on to long could have been done it one economical book.
Rating: Summary: CREATIVE, ENLIGHTENING, HEARTWRENCHING, BEYOND WORDS Review: The Dark Tower Series is the best thing that Stephen King has every written. If you love King's work you'll love this, if you hate his work you'll love this. For King to be able to keep his story together so well over the time span in which he has thus far written it is truly amazing. Roland is the best character I've ever read, except, possibly Rett Butler its really a toss up. The first time I read the series I couldn't put it down and once I finished I swear I had withdrawls. I am just begining to read them again and every day that goes by that I have to wait to find out what happen to Roland and his band of Crusaders is one day to many. All I can say is Stephen King please hurry and fishish book 5 and don't you dare die before you finish this series. If you havn't read these books don't waste another second and read them.
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: excellen
Rating: Summary: A series that touched me Review: I was 12 years old when I began reading this marvelous tale, and I must say it changed me. It gave me an appreciation for what this world is, and how lucky we all are. This is a masterpiece of literature that should not go unread.
