Summary: So this is KIng??? Boring!!!!
Review: I heard so much about Stephen King. I had nothing to do so I read this book. Man! was it boring. No interesting characters. Didnt really scare me a bit. Boring plot. Man! if this is King's best work, I better stick with, the master of story telling, the master of the Vampire Chronicles, the real deal, Anne Rice!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: AN ALL-TIME CLASSIC

Summary: BRAM STOKER WOULD HAVE LOVED THIS STORY
Review: This was the first book I ever read by Stephen King and it is still one of his greatest novels. 'Salem's Lot combines some of the elements of Bram Stoker's gothic novel Dracula, but Stephen King manages to give it a unique twist combining the elements of horror, suspense, and fantasy to make this a great novel. No one is able to tell a story the way Stephen King does. A must read not only for every Stephen King fan, but for anybody with an interest in horror.

Summary: This is perhaps the greatest horror stories ever written.
Review: I started reading this book and could not bring myself to put it down until it was finished. I must admit that I let my imagination run away with me at times. This is truly the best horror story that I have ever read

Summary: Exciting read
Review: In Stephen King's SALEM'S LOT, a new neighbor can leave a town turned completely upside down. A great plot, with King characters makes this immensely enjoyable.

Summary: One of the greatest King masterpieces!
Review: Salem's Lot, a town as common as any. With the same kinds of people, the same kinds of places. But now something's coming to Salem's Lot. To a place where blood calls out to blood and evil calls out to evil.
King destroys every notion and presupposition you may have of evil. He shows the persistence of belief of a child's heart along with persistence of an all different force. The struggle wages on through the book with King holding the reigns. A true classic of modern horror

Summary: The gruesome description keeps you reading!
Review: This book was one of the better books I have read in a while. It hits home with descriptions of people and places that could be next door. There are the local gossips, the storekeeper, and even the "haunted house" that everyone is afraid to go anywhere near until it's too late. The best part of course are the bone- chilling descriptions as the vampires take over the town. This is probably one of the best Stephen King novels I have read and I would recommend it to anyone.

Summary: A Forgotten Classic
Review: If I were introducing a new reader to Stephen King's work, this is one of the first books I'd hand them, along with "Misery," "Different Seasons," and "The Shining." It's a shame such a poor movie was made from this book. It's one of the very best of his early works, and one of his most frightening. In it we see the glimmerings of books to come, especially "The Shining". It is also free of the excesses he drifts into later on with throw offs like "Tommyknockers," "Night Shift," "The Langoliers," and the final chapters of that otherwise superb chiller, "It." Buy this book!

Summary: The greatest novel of all time!!
Review: Salem's Lot is not only the best novel Stephen King has written but, it is simply the best novel ever written period. Everything works perfectly in this book. The plot is not only about vampires in modern times, (with The 1970s being modern times) but, it's also about the good and evil in the human heart.

This novel is very scary. It is also very moody. Stephen King slowly builds a feeling of coming doom as only he can. Once the action and actual confrontational scares start in earnest, they just keep on coming and never stop.

Throughout the novel Stephen King gives enough attention to every day life detail that the horrific events that happen in this novel really do seem like they could take place. This is one of Mr. King's greatest strengths. The unbelievable becomes the believable in this book.

In closing, Salem's Lot is simply "The Masterpiece"! If anyone enjoys great horror, Read this novel!! You will not be disappointed!
