Rating: Summary: THE SCARIEST STEPHEN KING BOOK EVER !!!!!! Review: I have read all of Stephen Kings' books, and this is the most horrifying one he has ever written!! I jumped at every sound I heard, and for months after reading this book, had to sleep with the light on and the shades pulled. I did not want to see another Danny Glick floating by my window!! Stephen King outdid himself with "Salems Lot". This is an absolute must read for anyone who loves his books, or just plain loves to be frightened out of their minds. The beginning of the book can be a little confusing, but keep reading and it will all come together. Every time I drive through a small town now, I wonder if the kinds of things that happened in Salems Lot, could be going on there too. Even the mere prospect of reading this book again frightens me!
Rating: Summary: The second best! Review: Salem's Lot is a must for king fans and vampire know-it-alls. You can feel all the suspense, and, at the same time, learn a thing or two about vampires and ghost towns. When I was finished with Salems Lot, (which didn't take me long), I compared it to The Shining. It had an extraordinary little boy, but without the telepathy, and it had many unexpected twists and turns, especially near the end and when the vampires attack. An example in the Shining would be when Jack Torrance dies. To those of you who haven't read it, I'm sorry! So read 'Salems Lot and the vampires won't get you.
Rating: Summary: IT SCARRED THE POOP OUT OF ME!!! Review: THIS WAS THE FIRST BOOK I EVER READ THAT SCARRED ME SO MUCH, THAT EVERY SOUND I HEARD WHILE READING MADE ME JUMP. EVERYTIME I LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW I THOUGHT I WOULD SEE LITTLE DANNY GLICK FLOATTING THERE WAVING FOR ME TO LET HIM IN. SPOOKY,QUICK READ BOOK. LISA KILLIAN
Rating: Summary: This book is a horrifying, excellent read; King in top form. Review: This is a great book about a New England town that's residents fall one-by-one victim to a vampire almost as real and memorable as Dracula himself. A young writer discovers the evil plot while attempting to write a story about an eerie victorian mansion in which he discovers the vampire lives. The plot and characters of Salem's Lot make it read like a modern version of the Transylvanian classic by Stoker. If you are a fan of horror, you have to read this if you have not yet.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Modern Vampire stories!! Review: King brings back the idea of vampires walking amoung us. He took an old idea and turned it into a page turner. The book is fast paced and great reading!! Everyone either leaves town or dies trying to kill the vampires with only a few making it out alive.
Rating: Summary: One of King's most horrific! Review: I remember reading "'Salem's Lot" years ago. Every night, I'd finish reading half an hour before bedtime and hide the book under the couch cushions in the living room. Then I'd involve myself in another activity so that I wouldn't be thinking about it while lying alone in my dark bedroom. Sometimes my mom would find it and bring it to my room. The moonlight would shine through my windown on the cover as images of what I'd read would flash through my head. Perhaps that's why I didn't get much sleep as a kid....
In this book, Stephen King takes a small New England town with the expected gossip and scandals, and he adds the element of evil. His vampires aren't the comic book variety with black capes and long fangs, but are instead a sinister presense that's right before our eyes, yet unknown. Strangers in our midst that seem normal, yet why do we feel a slight chill when they pass?
"'Salem's Lot" is a story of evil, of vampires, and of the small town they invade. It will suck you in from the beginning and keep you lying awake at night.
Rating: Summary: Magyar tales in a little town Review: This is, by far, the best Stephen King book I've read, it's pretty well written, it keeps its amazing pace, and surprisingly, gives new life to a legend that was already kind of "used out": Vampires. They have been treated here as they have never been treated before, not even by Bram Stoker, I dare to say! A must for every King fan
Rating: Summary: Beware!!! Review: I wouldn't dare sleep with my shades up, you never know who might fly by, uninvited
Rating: Summary: Very Good! Review: Apart from "Misery" which I think is his best, this one contains really good writing and is a modern version of Stoker's classic, "Dracula"
Rating: Summary: Great Review: I am probably the most hugest King fan you will probably ever run across, and I must say this is by far my most favorite book of his, I love this book, and the thought of some kid sratching at my window keeps me up at night, I respect King for his imagination and creativity, This is a must for all King fan
