Rating: Summary: Masterful Review: I have read quite a foew of Steven King's books and this was ultimately one of his best. Each page brought new and more horrifying characters. Each chapter brought a new and more horrifying piece of his wonderful work.
Rating: Summary: not one of his best Review: I am and have been a fan of Stephen King's books for a couple of years. I am also a vampire buff. I thought that the combination of King and vampire would be perfect. It didn't live up to my expectations. "Salem's Lot" was rather slow moving and boring.
Rating: Summary: One of the best. Keep a light on at all times while reading Review: I would suggest turning on every light in your house and making sure that all of your doors are locked, because once you start reading, you will not be able to stop. Stephen King has shown us why he is the King of Horror with this book. Truly a remarkable story.
Rating: Summary: This book is so freakin' scary! Review: This was definately a good book! Other than the Green Mile Series this is the first Stephen King full pledged novel I have ever read. I think that the way he portrays the characters and the detail of the settings really made the book frightening. At first it kind of dragged but once you get into the characters and the situations, it seems so real. I have seen the movie and it also rocks. But as everyone knows, the books are always better than the movie. At least that's my opinion. I truthfully recomend this book if you like to be scared.
Rating: Summary: Beats Dracula by a landslide Review: This book was, in my opinion, fabulous. It had average charachters who tried to deal with a very unusual situation. This book inspires me to write.
Rating: Summary: i vant to suck your blood... Review: the only reason this i give this book a "7" is because it was extremely good at some parts (as most king books are) but unfortunately, got so boring and confusing that i could barely finish it! still, i think it is worth reading if you have a lot of time or maybe a passion for anything vampire.
Rating: Summary: The Most Terrific & Horrifying book I've ever read! Review: Salem's Lot was the first Horror story that I read (when I was 14)and it was so damn scarry that I never touched another Stephan King book so far. It's been 3 years since. But I'm still scared of looking out of my window at night. King's a superb specialist when it comes to horror stories. We must also appreciate the skill with which he weaves in different short tales of unrelated people into a complex and very meaningful novel. I'd really recomend it to anyone levelheaded and who would like to taste a bit of a 'real vampire horror' tale.
Rating: Summary: Vampires! Review: This book was a lot of fun. It is standard King, using his style to tell an interesting story about a town infested with vampires. Just the idea of vampires from Stephen King is great. My only gripe is it wasn't as in-depth as most other books. Still, it is very good, even for non-King fans.
Rating: Summary: One of Stephen King's best books ever! Review: This book offers everything you ever wanted in a good old fashioned horror story! Vampires are always a great subject. This has to be one of Stephen King's best books ever!
Rating: Summary: The KING of Vampire Novels Review: I've always been mysteriously enchanted with King's "'Salem's Lot" more than any of his other books. This is a masterpiece of modern mainstream horror literature. Required reading for King enthusiasts and horror enthusiasts alike.
