Summary: the best stephen king i have ever read
Review: This book made me run to the book store every few days to pick up another part to this book. Thank you Stephen King for giving me such greatness.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Deserves more than five stars, certainly!!
Review: The Green Mile stands far apart from anything I've ever read of Stephen King...Not much action, gross details, or chilling effects; only the naked truth that left you quivering, horrified. This is a masterpiece of innocence, and left me bawling like a baby at the end. STRONGLY recommanded.

Summary: WOW! Stephen IS King! This is a Must Read
Review: It is pure coincidence that led me to read this book. I like King's movies but never had the desire to read one of his books, (never took them serious). One morning while manning the phone at work I forgot my newspaper and out of bordom picked up this book that was laying around the office and started reading. My nose was stuck in it every free minute for the next few days! Are any of Stephen's other books near as good? This is one of the most amazing books I've ever read! Never has a book put me through such an emotional roller coaster ride. I can't wait for the movie it should be awsome!

Summary: Gloriously heartbraking
Review: I'm 16 years old, and have not been a big Stephen King fan in the past. But my decision to read The Green Mile was a good one. I became totally engrossed with the characters and the story line. Paul Edgecomb is one of the most convincingly realistc characters written this decade and John Coffey is by far the most sympathetic. The final chapter is brilliant, with King pushing our emotions to the edge and back. It will make a great movie if done properly. The movie is already off to a good start with Tom Hanks being perfecly cast.

Summary: Touching, Gruesome, Real
Review: This is the second Stephen King book I've read. The first was Needful Things. The Green Mile is a wonderful book. Although, some of the details may seem farfetched and maybe unnatural, it is possible that these things could happen and have happened. Death row is a big conflicting subject. Yet, Stephen King, lets you see both sides of the fence in this novel. The accused and the victims family. How each has to deal with circumstances as they've been dealt the wrong hand.

Summary: Second only to The Dark Tower!
Review: I have never read a book with 536 pages in 2 days! Enough said

Summary: Best King book since Misery
Review: I'm a big Stephen King fan and have read nearly thirty of his books, but this is by far the best one that I've read since Misery. King again shows his flair for creating characters that you actually understand and care about. I couldn't put this book down and read the last 150 pages until very late last night. I can't wait to see the movie. I hope Tom Hanks can do Paul Edgecome justice.

Summary: One of his best works yet!!!
Review: Any one who has not been living under a rock for the past twenty years knows the name of Stephen King,he is one of the most famous and well known writers of this century. He has always been a great storyteller, but the majority of his more popular works have been horror and it's good to see a change. This is the first "normal" Stephen King novel I've ever read(by normal I mean not dealing with vampires and things of that sort)and I must say I was very impressed by how he kept his same unique edge.King shows great detail in all of the characters in this novel and gives them all thier own quality wich you either hate or love. All in all a great story that would highly recomend to any one that enjoys great story telling.

Summary: King's best yet
Review: I'd been a fan of King in my younger days, but like so many others, was increasingly disappointed with his work. The last I've read by him was Dolores Claiborne, and I was so diappointed by that book that I've boycotted him since. Lucky for me, I heard about The Green Mile on the radio, saying it was one of his best... and it truly is! One thing I've always loved about King is his simple, unadorned writing style and his terrific character development... not only does he make you feel for the characters, you almost feel as if you are them. I could feel John Coffey's thrill at seeing the stars again and his anguish at the end, and Delacroix's execution literally made my hands tremble. And at first thought, the end may have been disappointing, but it was more than appropriate and a good way to end the book (unlike Grisham's truly disappointing end to The Chamber). I cried through the last 15 pages... this really is a novel EVERYONE ought to read. I can't wait for the movie!

Summary: The best book I ever read!
Review: I was completely engrossed by this book. It was fun to read- I couldn't put it down!!! I cannot wait until the movie comes out. This is the best book written by the best author in the world. It should be made required reading. One can feel the pain that the characters go through, and come to love poor Mr. Jingles.
