Summary: An excellent novel
Review: This book not only entertains you by telling you its story, but by forcing you to think of what you might do in these situations. The conflict and emotion through the entire story are portrayed wonderfully. The characters come alive, become people you know or have met. Stephen King delivers another winner. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: The best book I have ever read!
Review: I have just finished reading "The Green Mile" and I loved every page of it. I am 14 years old, and could not put this book down. This is one of my favorite books.

Summary: This is a new side of Stephen King!
Review: Why hasn't this book gotten more publicity? It is by far Stephen King's greatest work! He does an outstanding job of developing each character's personality and tackling the very controversial subject of the death penalty in a touching and gut-wrenching way.

I started reading Stephen King novels when I was barely a teenager, and my now 56-year old mother always saw his books as a literary weakness of mine. I bought her The Green Mile and made her promise to read it. Begrudgingly, she agreed. Once she started, she could not put the book down. She says it's one of the very best books that she's ever read and feels everyone should put it on their "required reading list!"

Summary: One of the best
Review: This is one brilliant book. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I really thought it was a good story line and good plot. From the beginning I was in the book. It was sad and spooky. It was great. Next to 'The Shining' I found it better. I read it in a week and that is brilliant for me because I am a slow reader but this book just got me. I really enjoyed it and encourage other people to read this book.

Summary: Horror? Nope. Not really. A great book? Oh yeah!
Review: This book is NOT really scary. There are some gory scenes and spooky ones, but the same goes for classic greek plays... The story is told in first person. Looking back at his life, the main character drop hints about what's about to happen as he tells the story, but more often then not the clues are confusing and misleading which is fun. But even with all of the plot twists and page turning suspense this is a very very touching book and I love every single page in it!

Summary: Stephen King's Best Novel
Review: There really isn't anything I can say bad about The Green Mile. I feel that it is King's best novel, beating out Carrie, which had my previous high spot. All of the characters are outstanding, both good and bad. My favorite would have to be Brutal Howell. I have never seen I better supporting character in a book. Paul Edgcombe is written well, as is John Coffey. Not to give anything away but I knew the catch with Coffey right away. You could tell by his personality, not mean, and quiet. The end is excellent, sad and scary all at the same time. I can't wait to see the movie when it comes out. Tom Hanks should make a good Paul Edgecombe. I would have liked to have seen Tom Sizemore play Percy Wetmore, beacause Sizemore is an excellent actor playing both good and bad. But the film should be good coming from the writer/director of The Shawshank Redemption. The Green Mile is a fantastic novel with no flaws.

Summary: This is one of Stephen King's best!
Review: This serial novel is so good it's difficult to put it down. The characters are well drawn and King manages to pull the whole thing together at the end. This is not a "scary" story in the traditional King sense, but the aspects of life on the "Green Mile" (death row) are pretty creepy. Throw in some supernatural qualities and a pet mouse that is more than a pet and this book comes up a real winner. I can't wait to see the film version starring Tom Hanks.

Summary: A step away from the macabre
Review: I have always said that Stephen King is my all time favorite horror writer, then I read the Gunslinger and he became my most favorite fantasy writer. Now that I've read The Green Mile, I can say he is my favorite Drama writer. All in all Stephen King can write in any genre he wants he is truly the best novelist of our time, I mean that.

Summary: mesmerizing ... stephen king at his best
Review: It has been a long time since I've sat down and read a novel in a single day. Having read many of Stephen King's books, I was anticipating characters and story/plot twists and turns that draws the reader in and does not let go. I was not wrong! The story is highly involving and emotional. The sadness that befalls John Coffey brought forth emotions I felt when reading of Susan Delgado's <from Wizard and Glass> tragic ending and also that of the wolf companion to Jack <I can't remember its name> from The Talisman. Overall, the tragedies that occur in many of Mr. King's books are intertwined with triumphs of the spirit and philosophical questions of the human life and its connection to the supernatural/ superunknown. Stephen King has a talent for masterfully drawing the reader's interests with an enchanting tale from that universe within his mind. The Green Mile is a masterpiece of modern literature. I can only hope that the movie does the novel justice. Also, best wishes to Stephen King and prayers for a speedy recovery from his accident.

Summary: KING'S BEST!
Review: I have been reading Stephen King's books for years and I believe this is his best yet. I started reading King's books for the scary stories but I am also drawn in by his more subtle horror, which can be found not only in The Green Mile, but also in the oldie-but-goodie, Eyes of the Dragon. I believe that an essential tool for a great writer is versatility and King has shown just how versatile he is.
