Summary: ABSOLUTELY STUNNING AND MOVING
Review: WHO KNEW! This amazing book was written by Stephen King. I sure didn't. This is one of the best books I have ever read in my life. I give it more stars, but I am not allowed that.

Anyhow, once you start this book, you can't put it down. You can feel the emotions of each character, especially that of Paul Edgecombe and John Coffey. I strongly recommend this book to anyone. It will make u a believer of miracles.

Summary: The Green Mile
Review: I have not yet read this book, however, I am completely disgusted that you would post (on the main review page) a review which not only reveals the plot of the book but also reveals the ending! Unbelievably irresponsible on your part...I was reading these reviews to see whether or not The Green Mile would be a good book to read and now all the suspense I was hoping to experience by reading the book is gone! Very dissappointing..........

Summary: SIMPLY SUPERB!
Review: This book is an old man's (Paul Edgecomb - the head prison guard at Cell Block E), recollection of events that occurred in 1932 at the Cold Mountain State Penitentiary. In particular, it focuses on John Coffey, a convicted murderer and rapist of two small girls, convicted murder and psychopath William (Billy the Kid) Wharton and convicted murder Delacroix. And a mouse by the name of "Mr. Jingles". It is the story of a special gift which one of these prisoners possesses, one that none of us would probably want.

King has produced a profoundly moving story and I assure you, the last fifty pages of this book will be read through tear-filled eyes.

The characters and story are memorable; the lessons and messages are clear.

I absolutely loved this book...I think you will too! (Let's all hope Hollywood does a good job with it) Most highly recommended!

Summary: I don't like Stephen King books...but!
Review: I don't really like Stephen King books but I must say that this book was absolutely amazing. It brought out every emotion. From start to end, I did not want to put it down. I did not want the book to end. I can't remark on any one aspect of this book that made it so telling, it was simply the way it was put together. I hope Stephen King writes more like this because if he does, I'll definitely be reading more of his work.

Summary: One of King's best
Review: This book was an extremely fulfilling, emotional and thrilling read. I finished it as quickly as "Misery" and was left with the feeling that I had been witness to a terrific tale. I think the racist and ethnic categorizations by other reviewers (as well as the divulging of the plot) is ignorant and thoughtless to others who might not have read it. If you can't get past the color issue in this book then you have missed the greater picture and should read it again. If you are NOT a shallow and defensive person then I think you will find that this series is a moving, unforgettable experience (although not a classic "horror tale")you will be glad you read.

Summary: The Most Emotional Book I ever Read!
Review: I think The Green Mile was a deep and powerful book! Eveyone always critisizes the fact that it wasn't scary, but that's not the point of the story! The point is that it's about injustice! And furthermore you get emotionally attached especially with John Coffey! I loved this book!

Summary: King Stages a Comeback
Review: After The Regulators and the awful Dark Tower series, I had just about given up on Stephen King when I picked this book up, and was totally blown away by it. I read the whole thing on a 5 hour plane trip and finished it taxiing in to the terminal. This book has one of the most emotional, gut wrenching and overall best crafted endings of any book I have ever read. The whole thing is totally compelling, creative, and a joy to read. Books like this really make me wish that I could write like Stephen King.

Summary: Better than Shawshank
Review: An incredible book from someone who isn't much of a reader. The charachters grow with each word and you feel what happens to the charachters with each paragraph. It's like you are there with them experiencing everything. I couldn't put the book down for a second. This is better than Shawshank! Hands down.

Summary: Pure entertainment all the way...
Review: I have to admit I "heard" the book before reading it. The wonderful Frank Mueller, "super star of audio" does the honors on those little serialized tapes. It was like sitting on your Daddy's lap listening to him read you the most wonderful story in the world.

King's incredible/impossible feat: the mouse. You BELIEVE in it!

All I can say is, the movie better be good or there are going to be some very disappointed readers out there!

Summary: Skip On This One
Review: The Green Mile was not scary at all! What the horror in the book is about is how cruel and unsensitive (white) men can be. The book was written well and had a lot of surprising twist in the plot but if you look past the smoke screen this is what you'll find... A black man gets convicted for raping and murdering two young white girls, it turns out this black man didn't do it a white racist did. This Black man was no vicious killer, he was a "Healer" a "Gift from God" a black man who could never hurt a soul. Stephen King went ALL OUT on this book to portray this wrongly accused BLACK MAN as Jesus, the electric chair his cross, and the white men as Jews to see to it his death sentence would be carried out. If you know the type of garbage I am talking about I wouldn't buy this book, it would probally disgust you as it did with me....
